I have a finished rough draft of an element color chart:

Interesting to see how much order there can be to what was (to me) seeming • like
a jumble of new colors.

Rather than render each swatch as an image, I used HTML's table background • specs
for the colors. So, 8-bit displays are probably inadequate for viewing. Color
names given are rough too -- I have yet to check through documents for better
ones.

I'm hoping that more data, possibly photos, can be linked to it in the future.
(for a group resource) Comments are welcome. Particularly info about previous,
similar efforts and any colors which may be missing.

Looks good!

BLUE-VIOLET+2: Isn't this used in Belville for base bricks and the fences in
5840 Garden Playmates? I have sometimes called this color lavendar but I don't
know how correct that is.

I have seen one or two parts which I would call GREY-.5 by your scale,
definitely darker than GREY, but not nearly as dark as GREY-1. One of them was
a 1x1 plate w/side clip (and clearly a LEGO logo on the stud, at first I
thought it was a Tyco part, but I keep having this ghosting feeling of such a
mid-grey).

What color is Maersk Blue? It definitely isn't BLUE+1. Is it BLUE-GREEN+1 or
should it show up as BLUE+2?

We definitely need to add the transparent colors and the metalic colors to
this.

It would also be interesting to complete the first appearance in the following
areas:

Scala
Belville
System
Duplo
Technic
Fabuland
(any others?)

Is the pink (NCd) the color of the doors for the old Freestyle 2x4x5 door
system? Actually, I think it may be NCc (in which case that is also a SYSTEM
color). These doors came out of the "for her bucket" (I think this is set
1688).

(...) I'd stump for BLUE+1.5 as it's not as light as +2 but it's blue in hue, not blue green. (see (URL) ... although the pic at Brickshelf is much larger and therefore better, it's the same pic) This chart is handy. We all can't be like Conan who (...) (24 years ago, 29-May-00, to lugnet.faq)
