  Re: That old set FEELING...

(...) I remember saving up to buy one of these many years ago. It's a lovely set and an under-used colour scheme at the time. I've put mine together again, although the gold symbols have faded. I think of it now more as a UN-like relief transport, (...) (21 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.town)

New set for the database - 1929

I found this little bag in an old collection. - And the model :-) Number 1929 - And copyright states 1988 - It has a total of 13 bricks. It could be a 25 year promotional for a toyshop in Denmark - But I'm not sure. Image can be seen at (URL) Per (...) (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.admin.database)

Re: How do you guys do it?

I've only been out of my dark ages for about two years. It was the Star Wars sets that caught my eye. I bought a couple and remembered how much fun LEGO is!! The next step for me was downloading instructions from Brickshelf.com for the old sets I (...) (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.build)

  8mm camcorder

Here's an odd request: Since I have way too much time on my hands these days, I've been cleaning up in areas of the house that haven't been visited in years. I've come across some old 8mm tapes made with my first camcorder (now scrapped for parts). (...) (22 years ago, 13-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Jake! Thanks. I just ordered a modest quantity of old color light and dark grey bricks and plates to ensure I can complete an existing project.   Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

(...) I am another who is used to spending between $5000.00 - $10,000 a year on Sets and bulk ordering. Probably another $2000.00 or so on Bricklink. So far this year I have only ordered about $300.00 of old light gray bricks in bulk from S@H and (...) (21 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

The one thing I can't understand is the "I've got multiple thousands of dollars of bricks, now these new ones won't match, so I'm going to quit my hobby." (...) I think the point was missed. Basic bricks and plates will be easy to come by in the old colors for some time via various places -- the fact that we can't get any of the new non-basic parts is what the problem truly is.
