I've only been out of my dark ages for about two years.  It was the Star Wars
sets that caught my eye.  I bought a couple and remembered how much fun LEGO
is!!

The next step for me was downloading instructions from Brickshelf.com for the
old sets I had as a kid and rebuilding them.  Classic Space!  I was 11 years old
again.  I could still build some sets from memory.

The search for missing parts took me to Bricklink.com.  I was like a kid in a
candy store.  My LEGO budget went throught the roof but eventually slowed down.

Finding the local LUG and becoming an active member was awesome.  To see in
person the MOC's of others and to discuss and learn new building techniques was
invaluable.

My MOC's now adays usually start with a single idea or part of a larger model.
Like how can I build fuel tank on that train. Numerous versions and rebuilds
spark new ideas and new MOC's.

I generally build prototypes ignoring colors and concentrating on form with
checks on Peeron and Bricklink to see what is actually available/affordable.

If you don't have a brick seperator get one, better yet get 2 or 3.  They will
save your fingers and your bricks.

For storage I started out with a couple 7 drawer units with a few plano
containers for small parts.  I started with general catagories like slopes and
as I could afford more drawers and more plano boxs I refined catagories into
colors as well.  I also have a bin for parts I won't likely use like NBA court
pieces, hoops, basketballs ect.

I compulsively search for LEGO sales.  Clearance isles are your friends.  Being
a member of a LUG will give you a heads up on local sales and help stretch that
LEGO dollar.
