  Do we still do FOTW?:)

Woohoo! My dad and I were on the go today and came across a flea market. Knowing all of those great adventure stories including every plot element imaginable about AFOLs finding great things at flea markets, I made an effort to go. "On the way back" (...)   My Photos From Ambler

The photos I took are on the web: (URL) are in a kludgy catalog layout with a few credits. Yell at me if I goofed up any credits. (In particular, whose knights were those? Dan's or Jim's? Who built the red-and-white station, or the fuel tank?) (...) (24 years ago, 13-Nov-00, to lugnet.org.us.gardenslug)

(...) I think James has hit a key point here. Things that we did as kids stick with us, and are viewed "through rose-tinted glasses". That's likely unavoidable - most of us had lots of fun as kids, and spent lots of time playing. One of the (...) (24 years ago, 15-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: CA bricks ?

Did someone say Cellulose Acetate???? The red and yellow are easiest to spot. The red has an orange hue to it. The yellow is a "Lemon Chiffon" shade that is lighter in color. Blue is also a bit lighter. But the other colors are hard to tell the (...) (24 years ago, 30-Nov-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Another Technic Creation

(...) Easily - in fact my lego collection is very modest, and positively diminutive compared with some of the pictures and lists of other's collections online. The crane was built mainly from the 8480 Space Shuttle, the 8448 Supercar, and the 8266 (...) (24 years ago, 16-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)

My own building experiences: (...) That'S the first step of getting into the buisness of creatin own models. Building by instruction gives good ideas of how the technic bricks could be used. But that just covers just 20% (or less) of the reasonable (...) (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

Wow, you had a hell lot of lego for a 13 year old teen, and apparently you had a well developed building ability to deserve that much lego..:-) Very nice models, even for an adult.   Re: New Train Cars and Locos

(...) Oops, my bad. I didn't know that box cars came extra tall. I don't think you could make it any shorter and call it a highcube. It looks like is is 8 bricks and 1 plate tall (counting the 2 plate tall baseplate). A standard LEGO box car with (...) (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org.wamaltc)

  Life on Mars -- short and sweet reviews (7312 & 7314 )

Re: Spray Paint Gone Awry - Need Help

As Larry said, cleaning this many parts with Brasso would be an enormous job and it wouldn't work on anything textured, like roof bricks, and would take the printing off any printed parts.   Re: Online LEGO users design their own sets

(...) Like I stated earlier, the problem for old LEGO set instructions for sets from 1955 to 1972 is that 1) Town was alone in the LEGO System world until Train came out in 1966, and others in the 1970's and 2) classic windows came in 9 window (...) I've built a bunch of the 2001 sets, I've got all but the largest sets in these two themes (7317 was not to be found in my local stores and since I don't have a USB port, I will be waiting to buy 1349 until I can get it on sale).
