Don't steal things from other web sites

(...) Eric, I should clarify that a bit... Certainly you can post anything you find on the lugnet.com site for discussion purposes, and you can probably post a fair amount of other content you find elsewhere, but it all depends on the nature of the (...)   LEGO Mentioned in Business Week

I am doing this from memory, I don't have the article handy ... forgive me if I don't get the details exactly correct! On page 60 of the current issue of Business Week (2/15/99) there is an article on the the expected impact on several toy (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

Need piece count for 8210 Nitro Bike GTX

Hey all, I'm updating my set inventory (1), and I need the piece count for set #8210, Technic Nitro Bike GTX. The Pause database doesn't seem to have this number, so anyone who can give a piece count will be improving at least two databases! If you (...) (26 years ago, 17-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: "Exclusivity" at DTRH?

(...) Well, actually, it only becomes a disappointment if Gene disagrees, but, in my mind, it becomes less of an issue. I feel like I "know" Gene, so I would never think to tell him what to do. I'd respect his decision even though I'd kinda shake my (...) (26 years ago, 17-Feb-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

  "Exclusivity" at DTRH?

/rant on Since this will be about a site that hosts auctions I guess it fits in best here. Well, I received a rather unwelcome surprise this morning. Some may have noticed Gene and I discussing the auction hosting service provided by DTRH.com - (...) (26 years ago, 17-Feb-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

  My two cents worth

As a buyer, I'm not sure what difference it would make whether there were 1, 2, or 10 LEGO auctions on the DTRH server. I current track close to 20 sites that either sell LEGO products or auction off LEGO pieces. I'm not going to stop looking at all (...) (26 years ago, 19-Feb-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

  Re: Sorry

(...) Think about what you're saying for a minute: If he's hellbent on doing it anyway, it's not morally wrong that he does it, and it's not hurting anyone except himself, it's not really any of your business whether I help him part with his cash or (...)   Re: galactica news (Re: Viper)

(...) I think hiring Hatch to reprise his role can only help. But we must know one thing: despite how much he's done to revive BG and even though he's part of the original cast, Hatch is merely a spokesperson type for Universal Pictures, which (...)   Which Threads Ethics - Summary

Salient points IMHO are as follows: To quote Todd: "Auctions and threads do not generally have a one-to-one correspondence. (...) I think everyone realizes the scale and detail limitations of LEGO. A lot of accurate details would make for sets that contain a lot of special pieces that have limited use and increase price, vide infra. If a Millenium Falcon were done on (...)   Proxy ratcheting: How do auction systems work?

I (as well as all other participants) got a note from Ian Bishop in early March about a proxy quandary that had arisen. Seems he had a bidder that had bid 285 (a winning bid at the time) with proxy cap of 300. Someone else subsequently bid 300. Ian (...) (25 years ago, 19-Apr-99, to lugnet.market.auction)
