Re: rtlToronto14 AC issue and entrants

(...) What I don't undersatnd is why you're geting involved with this. (...) No, removing the batteries does not clear the firmware and programming - it takes only a minute if you have your RCX easily accessable (by good machine design). A poor (...) I couldn't figure out how to get to the Bricxcc pbForth (...) (20 years ago, 10-Oct-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

Re: What I would do (2)

(...) The optimum solution would be both - provide a new API that gets the most out of the new firmware, but an optional "compatability layer" that adds what is necessary to provide an API compatable with the RCX. Note that I'd vote to get the new (...) (19 years ago, 31-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Lost my IR Tower - Scout SDK

Hi, If you have the SDK2 for the RIS then you have all you need to develop for the Scout. It uses the RCX 2.0 firmware, and all that is different is the following: 1 x built in light sensor (takes away one input). 1 x runnable program mode (select (...)   reply framing in firmdl3/rcx_comm.c

--- From: Kekoa Proudfoot [via Pat LaVarre] About rcx_comm.c waiting twice, I see where the confusion is now. If no bytes are available, the wait will be T.   Re: What version for my rcx 1.5?

(...) The brick version doesn't really mean a lot (other than that version 1.0 bricks had the external power jack). If you download the firmware from the 2.0 SDK then your 1.5 brick is an RCX 2.0 and it will work perfectly well with NQC, BricxCC (...) (22 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: pbFORTH needs better uploading, docs

Well, I can rather agree on the uploading, but I don't find it quite as bad as you do. Not as good as NQC, but then NQC still has all the LEGO firmware limitations. As for the rest of your comments, I can only say that I managed to get the (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

(...) This is correct. (...) Hehe :) Yes, this is correct. LegOS is also faster for some other reasons- it samples the sensors at a much faster rate than the standard firmware, so legOS programs can react much more quickly than standard bytecode (...) (24 years ago, 6-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)

The fact that LEGO designed the firmware to require the flag with each of these doesn't mean it's needed in a high level language. Of (...) (18 years ago, 15-Feb-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)
