  Re: somewhat off topic, but...

Repost to proper newsgroup... ===...=== I'm NOT biased because I DIDN'T write the thing... Forth is a wonderful language that has a proven track record. I don't use it in my job simply because management has never heard about it. I don't mean to (...) (22 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

Re: NQC "No reply from RCX" Help Please

(...) Well, I'm having a similar problem, but in my case, NQC and bricxcc just don't even ever see the brick. I have firmware installed, and the Lego RIS 2.0 software works and communicates perfectly with the brick (little green light on the USB (...) (22 years ago, 20-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Multi-robot communication

Hi Robolab 2.5 advanced users, Have a look at (URL) where I posted a simple multi-robot communication-system developped on the base of LEGO standard firmware 2.0. Imagine you have several RCXs (RCX-1 .. RCX-n) active in a project. It is now possible (...) (22 years ago, 20-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: remote control

The buttons "1", "2" & "3" send a IR message to the RCX. The RCX must be running a program that will respond to one or more of those messages. The A, B, C buttons will activate the RCX outputs forward or reverse. This requires only the installed (...) (22 years ago, 20-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Can the RCX 1.0 be upgrade to the latest RIS2.0 firmware?

Can the RCX 1.0 be upgraded to the latest RIS 2.0 firmware? If it can, are there any differences, or lacks there of, between the RCX 1.0 upgraded to RIS 2.0 firmware and the RCX 2.0 that ships with the RIS 2.0? (22 years ago, 6-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

I got the following in email from Larry. He also sent this to lugnet.org.us.smart@lugnet.com but it does not seem to appear on the lugnet smart page. (...) Yes. (...) They are identical for all programming purposes (but early RCX 1.0 have a power plug). Jürgen "who even checked that the ROM contents is identical" (22 years ago, 7-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: CPR for RCX?

I don't know much about forth, but I'll try to help. I'm not sure that any firmware (normal) could keep the RCX from turning on. Try taking the batteries out, wait a few minutes, then put the same ones back in. If it turns on, it was the firmware. (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

Does SDK 2.0 work with RIS 1.5 (RCX 2.0)

Hi, I have RIS 1.5 and with an RCX 2.0 brick, I have downloaded the SDK 2.0 but the sample programs report Error (0xe0050c98) from VPBrick vpb: bad (unsupported) PBrick type Is this because I am using RIS 1.5?   CPR for RCX?

Hello all, I've got a rather odd condition here with my old 1.0 RCX. It's seen just about every firmware out there, and I just nuked Lejos for pbForth. I used the NQC downloader, loaded the most recent s-record, and lo!, '4th' appeared on my (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

(...) Matt, Just because the LCD is blank does not mean that pbForth is not running. When you power the RCX on and pbForth is the firmware, the LCD is blanked. Can you communicate over the IR link? If so, you're fine. If you DO need to remove the (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

Re: Even better, RIS 1.5, $99.99

In the end, it all comes down to the power connector on the original 1.0 RCX. If you don't mind buying batteries while you're trying to debug your code, then the version you buy doesn't matter. (And with the 2.0 firmware on the web, the contents of (...) (22 years ago, 7-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)
