| | Re: Would it be a good idea if LEGO made metal axles?
| (...) Yes most of the 1970-76 European style gear sets (#800, #801, #802, #810, #811, #812, #813 and #814) had mainly those milky white axles. The metal ones that came in a few of these sets was for use with LEGO motors. Cheers, Gary Istok (17 years ago, 18-Dec-07, to lugnet.general)

| | 112 universal building set
| Hi All and Gerhard Istok I was looking up some info for this set I just picked up. The Universal Building Set 112. It says on the box front that there 185 pieces in it. Peeron list a 112 as a train set and one as a universal building set with 285 (...) (17 years ago, 30-Oct-07, to lugnet.inv)

| Er, um I guess I'm back..... Been gone quite a while, mainly due to a flooded basement that caused some Lego box damage (I was so upset, I didn't even want to think about Lego for over 1 year), been unemployed (with a masters degree in computing!), (...) |
| (...) Those old 2x8 bricks happen to be Samsonite Lego (USA/Canada) bricks made between 1964-70. For some reason the quality of the Samsonite molds was worse than those of European Lego. Many of the Samsonite Lego molds of the 1960's had re-stamped (...) (20 years ago, 8-Jun-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

| | Going to Legoland with Binoculars...
| Yesterday I was looking at a Lego Shop At Home catalog, and I noticed that the 2x2 windows were still available in white in bulk packs of 25. I was wondering why these were still here. And then I realized that this window is still used in Legoland (...) (20 years ago, 9-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

| (...) Thanks Niels, I agree that the last time Lego made a 1x3x2 window in white (in a set) was in 1970. However, I have 2 examples of this window in white that have no window "sills". This means that they were produced after 1972. I just found the (...) (20 years ago, 9-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

| Like many of you I have purchased a few of the new Harry Potter sets. There is a new one out called "Shrieking Shack" #4756, which appears to have (4) 2x2 inside corner regular sloped bricks in white! This piece has not been seen in 27 years, since (...) (I have the Samsonite catalogs for 1961, 1963, 1965, 1966, 1968 and the dealer catalog for 1970.) The 005 set (...) (20 years ago, 11-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)
