Exactly, Hot wheels uses the idea as well as those machines that shoot tennis or baseballs for practice. The baseball ones use a boat trailler wheel driven by an electric motor. I want to thank the list for such excellent suggestions. Here's a progress report: I used all 4 of the "big" wheels (tires and hubs) that come with the RIS, dual-mounted (like the rear wheels on a tractor-trailer) and opposite each other. The gap (...) Greetings, I've heard mention of the various Sharp IR sensors which can give different distance readings for different zones. I find the biggest problem is the casing. It consists of a small box and two things on the outside, with tiny clips. It's these clips that always brake so I simply glue them. I have used the old style motor to shoot 3/8 inch wooden balls with a range of 2-3 feet. Used about a 2 inch shaft attached directly to the motor to bat the balls.
