Re: RTL posting stats (was Re: Lugnet Newsgroups Anniversary!)

(...) Mind?--certainly not! :-) (...) Trends noted in-head, yes; on paper/graph no... Would love to see anything you come up with. --Todd (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Proxy bidding mechanics questions...

I had the same problem the other day, so I took a look at Todd's rules... I'd suggest that your item 2 is INCORRECT _because of_ item 3 - Rae's bid is $1.10 (hidden proxy $3.00)... Chris bids $2.00... system wants to apply Chris's bid at $1.20, but (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: LEGO for Life Sweepstakes

(...) Uh, is that $2,000 worth annually for life? :) Otherwise it would just be Lego for a Year for a lot of us. (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)

  request for information

I am not a regular member of this group, so I apologize for the interruption. I am a public relations specialist and event coordinator from Salt Lake City, and I am currently planning the Bar Mitzvah for the 13-year old son of a very wealthy man. (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.build)

JDH Auction 3 - trains - ALL SOLD!!!

The two main sets consist of the train, track and engine driver only, i.e. no passengers, loads, platforms, road vehicles, etc. The speed regulators are available at no extra cost if required (240VAC @ 50/60Hz), but they will obviously increase (...)   Re: Proposed: A New Kind of Timeline (was Re: The LD environment)

(...) <SNIP> (...) The downside to this, as I see it, is that everyone would want their own timeline. Is that feasible and reasonable? (...) If memory serves me, what Steve meant(2) was "who will take over ownership of the project?" That is, who (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.space)

RTL posting stats (was Re: Lugnet Newsgroups Anniversary!)

Ok, this is really rough because my comprehension of gnuplot is fairly low, but I thought y'all might be interested in looking anyway. <URL:(URL) is a graph of number of posts per week to rec.toys.lego for as long back as Deja News can remember. (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: i wonder if this post will be blown way out of proportion too

(...) For the most part, I have to agree with you. This should not be a place to ridicule others. However, I don't think that the people responding to your post were necessarily trying to ridicule you so much as trying to help you on how to post (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.castle)

Re: i wonder if this post will be blown way out of proportion too

(...) It isn't a matter of being blown out of proportion, really. We're all here for fun, and Lego is a hobby for us (well, more like an obsession, maybe). Because it's a hobby, no one here is getting paid to be nice, or anything, and some people do (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: LEGO for Life Sweepstakes

Woohoo! LEGO FOR LIFE!!!!! (...) Awwww..... that's not 'Lego for life! That's only 'Lego for three months'! :) Think if it were REALLY 'Lego for life', and any of US regular LUGNET-ers won, we'd put 'em out of business-- but on the plus side we'd (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: [FS] - eBay - McDonald's Promo set, box only - 25 cents

Another thing someone could do, but I'm not as upset about this as others so the someone is not me, is to actually sell the set in a Dutch auction... (many sets with a reserved price that matches the list price) and in the description of the set for (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Does anyone accually like 4561?

(...) Juniorization is more than just over-reliance on SPUDs and POOPs. It's the dorky design, the missing doors, the lack of realistic details. You know, everything you pointed out as being wrong with the set's design. I've got an old 4.5V tender (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.reviews)

  LEGO for Life Sweepstakes

Apparently, this isn't new, but I don't remember seeing anything about it on LUGNET before. In the Parent's section at www.lego.com, there's a sweepstakes running from now until the end of April. The sweepstakes is only open to US residents. The (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.announce)

  Re: Lubricating Cylinders --YoYo lubricant?

Maybe it sounds strange, but you could use the lubricant people use for their YoYos. As Yoyos are made of different kind of plastics (ok - there are also wooden and metal ones) , there should be no problems i.e.: Your cylinders will survive the (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Eric, If your going to be staying for a week i would suggest getting a place outside of boston and using Public trans to get down town. The commuter rail system is extensive and easily accessible. I am from the North Shore which has a few nice (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Unusually busy Sunday...?

Re: Halloween Lego Design Contest Reminder and Update

(...) I glad you enjoyed it! When I saw those particular pieces I knew I *had* to use them for the double bowl kitchen sink and stove.
