It isn't a matter of being blown out of proportion, really. We're all here
for fun, and Lego is a hobby for us (well, more like an obsession, maybe).
Because it's a hobby, no one here is getting paid to be nice, or anything, and
some people do tend to get pretty sarcastic.
But by the same token, when our only medium is text-based, it makes it easier
for all of us to communicate when we follow good grammar and accepted 'net
conventions. If you take a look around, you will notice that most of the
people here are fairly civilized and polite. We don't want to alienate
anyone, but its like any community: if you want to fit in, you have to play by
the rules. Whether you like it or not, using poor grammer or all caps on the
internet appears to be childish, regardless of the real reasons.
