An other way to check the real position of a steering system is to use a potentiometer instead of a rotation sensor. This way, you have the absolute position af the steering system, with for example full left at 0, full right at 100 and center at (...) (25 years ago, 10-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Have you tried a variation on the rack-and-pinion steering design. The old "Expert" sets used it to some degree of success. Basically this involves using a 8-tooth gear and some of the flat "gear" plates. The 8-tooth gear rotates and pulls a 1 by X (...) (25 years ago, 10-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) For the AT-ST, I recommend some springs attached to the legs to help support the load. It works surprisingly well. You may want to try antialiasing the links and header on every page.
