Hi everybody, please read the message below I rarely watch this group But i am amazed by the pictures, but the following things puzzle me 1. Since when those DB stickers come back? Awe man, good call! Yep, forget it. It is a hoax (April fools joke, as someone pointed out). And it's probably one of the best I've seen. The telltale sign for me is that you can see the around the edges of the text and models, where the images were (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Hi. Does anyone have an idea for keeping the lego pieces together without glueing them for good? Some of my designs fall apart where there are only a few "holes and stems" holding them together. Thanks. (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.robotics)

These are compelling arguments... :( And here I was thinking of auctioning all my 12V track and trafos to be able to but this stuff in the fall... Maybe we're spending too much time on the quality of the graphics. Lets look at the sets themselves. Where would those wheels on the 4460 and the gray wheels on the 4432. And the doors and windows on the passenger cars on the 4450? Those are awesome (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains) !

I'd also have to question the description of set 4479: "Güterwaggons 2 offenen und 2 gedeckte Frachtwaggons mit Lademeistern" My German might be a little rusty, but the plural of open in this particular case is "offene" and not "offenen" I'm still (...) (...) It looks like 4450 and 4460 use the same motor to me. Looks like the new motor has two small wheels and 4 large spoked ones. The only exception to this (AFAIK) was a 50x50 1970 Samsonite only LEGO green plate with a curvy "T" shaped roadway on it. Since this (...) (...) Image quality is a big part of determining if it is a fake. IMO, at least. For example, is it just a bad scan? What evidence is there for or against this? After having another look, I am not too sure now, I am stuck in-between. You guys are going to have to connive me. Use pegs and beams attached vertically. They give a surprising amount of strength to a structure. Gloria and Mark, you are correct-omundo!!!! Yes the 2x2, 2x3, 2x4, 2x8 and 2x10 bricks have tubes underneath now (since '58). Th 2x8, 4x8, and 6x8 plates now have round (instead of square) undersides. The 1x2, 1x6 and 1x8 bricks now have posts (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Well, to answer my own question, I looked at ebay auctions where folks were selling lego "by the pound" and adding the pieces. One pound is somewhere between 200 to 300 pieces (with an obvious variation between one by one rounds and small (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

I'm afraid that I must go with the hoax theory. Here's why: 1) This appears to be Paul Rutenberg's first ever Lugnet post, and he has a hotmail address to boot. 2) His homepage (once translated with babelfish) is decidedly non-Lego. I found 3401 Shoot 'N Score at Zany-Brainy (Raleigh, NC) today.
