Re: Stupid: Bought an Open Box

(...) Consumer Affairs will ask you if it was clearanced. Just be frank with them, and if they want to charge you then you can decide if it is worth it. Customer satisfaction is usually more important to them than assigning blame for the missing (...) (26 years ago, 29-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Stupid: Bought an Open Box

(...) My suggestion is this...call and ask. I'm sure they'll be able to tell you official TLC policy on this. If they say they'll replace it in any case then your conscience is clear, otherwise you'll know better next time. You'd be amazed how (...) (26 years ago, 29-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Resolved! (Was: Plagiarism again)

(...) Wouldn't you prefer that your model win the November contest over some other model? Subject to your approval of course, I think they should have left the model there, and switched the credit and prize from the plagarist to you. Although it (...) (26 years ago, 29-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Questionable eBay auction

have never had that particular problem, but did have a sittuation where I recieved a money order in USDollars, drawn on a foreign bank. my bank refused to cash it. but walked into another bank and they cashed it without a problem or a fee.   Re: Questionable eBay auction

I don't know the answer to your question, but if this person is being such a stinker (or maybe the bank is the stinker) and you want the item, you might want to try to arrange payment thru bid pay. I haven't used it yet, so I can't (...) (26 years ago, 29-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

  Re: Pixelego Viewer available

(...) hmm... yes... you're missing something. The 'Party girl' example definitely does take advantage for red bricks (as well as other colors). don't know what it could be. eric (26 years ago, 29-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Stupid: Bought an Open Box

(...) Thanx Mark. I caught a thread along this line in the Star Wars group, where somebody was missing a Boba Fett from an opened Slave I set. The issue came up of whether LEGO should be replacing the parts free of charge. In cases of missing parts (...) (26 years ago, 29-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Black

(...) Keep in mind that the light sensor generates a red light, so you're really measuring the reflectivity of the target in the red part of the spectrum. Thus red is as reflective as white (some of the other results, e.g lavendar, are still pretty (...) (26 years ago, 29-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Plagiarism again (Was: Can we say, "Plagiarism"?)

(...) Not just unethical, illegal. (...) Actually I think school is a more likely source. I don't recall many discussions about copyright violations happening at home in my childhood. Regards, Steve Hodge (26 years ago, 29-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Questionable eBay auction

Does anyone know of a bank in the USA that would charge a $15 fee to process an international money order in US funds? I've won an RCX from someone on eBay, and, since I'm in Canada, told the seller that I'd send the MO (which is drawn on an (...) (26 years ago, 29-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

  Resolved! (Was: Plagiarism again)

(...) I checked earlier today, and my model was still there, but I just checked again, and it's been taken down. The November winner is now a cute dragon that looks like it was done by a 5-year-old, and in fact a 5yo is credited with its design. (...) (26 years ago, 29-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)
