Yes, another reason to visit my pathetic website: preliminary voting for LEGO
Survivor has begun!

Be mean-spirited under the guise of anonymity.  Vote someone off the island of
Okhmosk Isaya!  There are 12 castaways in all--not including the host, who can
also be voted off!  It's all in good minifig fun.

http://onedaycnn.freeservers.com to get to my website
http://onedaycnn.freeservers.com/photo3.html to go directly to the LEGO
Survivor info page!

Vote early, and often!  (And while you're at it, why not check out the rest of
my pathetic website?!)

long live Lego,

Before we all get too excited about the prospect of killing,Oops I mean
getting rid of him, we must remember that we are not the the island with
him.Lets keep him there and observe his effects on the mental well being of
the other minifigs.

I have recently come out of my dark ages so please forgive me.  What is the
deal with Timmy?  Is he from a set, theme, maniac issue?  I've seen pictures
of MOC's running him over, etc.

I remember asking the same question myself. ;-) (a long time ago!)

...Timmy is originally from the Time Cruisers' sets, and later beamed himself
somehow into freestyle. He is detested mostly everywhere. I never understood
why, until I got ahold of one of them... and then another, and another... they
are impossible to get rid of... and there is absolutely no use for one of
them, let alone *multiples*.

I hope that explains a little bit!

At least there's a use for the torso-

Use the head of the fellow on the right-
http://www.brickset.com/view.asp?Set=1822-1
(He's got orange-brown hair and green sunglasses, very cool)
Put it on the Timmy torso
And add Space Police II legs (white hips, green legs)

It's T-Man, my cool LEGO superhero!

The heads, I have no idea.

Even though I don't think I could ever do harm to any LEGO piece; if forced I
would choose Timmy's head.  I'm really trying to think of a creative way to
destroy Timmy's head short of melting it.  It's really hard to destroy ABS
minifig heads.  Any Ideas folks?

Now hold on a second, Timmy is an essential part of the Lego universe.  Every
world needs an innumerable horde of indistinguishably hideous creatures of
evil against which the forces of good can struggle.  Tolkien had had the orcs,
Star Trek has the Borg, the United States has lawyers, and the Lego world has
Timmy.

It is almost certain that the Timmies have dark and supernatural powers, which
allow them to breed explosively in giant swarms.  It is unclear how they've
managed to spread so virulently into so many Lego sets - two theories under
investigation are that they are either able to disguise their eggs to look
like innocuous Lego bricks, or they are the product of some kind of Timmy
retrovirus which lays dormant on the surface of regular bricks until picked up
by unsuspecting minifigs during the course of unprotected construction.

I, for one, can never seem to get enough Timmies for my Timmy Army, which is
used to train Anti-Timmy Shock Troops and for 'research' purposes.

Youre giving Timmy way too much credit here.  I'm trying to rack my brain
for some analogy for the existense of Timmy in LEGO to another situation real
or fictional.  I CAN'T FIND ONE!!  He is just that useless and horrible.
I've thought about making a Timmy cannon to launch them to unspeakable
doom or even towards a field of other Timmy's (a fate I wouldn't even wish on
a Timmy fig myself).

The problem is that real and fictional situations don't really compare to the
Lego situation.  Because the Lego world is so much better than any real or
fictional world, it stands to reason that the forces of evil would necessarily
have to be that much worse.

Well you know, the only humane thing to do is to mail all the Timmies to me,
so that I can put them in my special Timmy habitat.  You might also want to
mail me any Jar-Jars that are causing trouble, or in fact any type of Lego
product with which you are experiencing difficulty.  This is a service I'm
happy to provide, free of charge, in order to do my part to help the community!

They have a use if you like "T" shirts!  They can fit into space, where there
are "M" shirts and "B" shirts.  Now, if LEGO would just give us a few vowels
to work with...
I would be happy to take some Timmy's off your hands!  Or whatever you cannot
use, we could certainly clear some space for you!

I couldn't agree more let's eliminate the non-minifig second class ABS.
Whomever is voting for Nellie has the right idea.  Mike should probably be
next.  And then the host.  Then we will have our very own minifig battle
royale.

Actually after we get rid of the non-minifig classes, and the cheap borg
imitation host,we should make Timmy the host. That will really stir the pot up
a bit.

Great idea!  The way CBS's survivor ended made me mad.  In the words of
Letterman, the winner is the biggest "weasel."  I'm glad I have the
opportunity to help decide who goes and stays.  I'm hoping Mike wins.

Thanks!  Yeah, I couldn't stand it either... that Rich won.  Hope you're aware

island, it does NOT necessarily mean that the one with the most votes against
him/her will be booted off.

Totally not following you here.

Your initial post says, "vote for who gets kicked off the island." So does
your website.

So what is it we are doing if not voting for who first is ejected? At this
point if you want this to be fun you need to clarify and add a little
structure around things like having dates when voting stops and someone gets
booted, etc.

Larry,

Guess I should have worded it better, but the idea of the preliminary voting
was to get an idea of who people *wanted* off the island.  Translated, it
means that the person(s) with the most votes will *not necessarily* get the
boot.  Ultimately, it will be up to the other *castaways* to trim down the
island's populace to the sole LEGO Survivor.  The polling is just to get an
idea of who people out there are rooting for--and maybe, just maybe, to help
determine the outcome of the game.  Maybe.  :-)

If we factor out the fact that minifigs and the rest of them are basically
plastic (reality check time here...) and can't *really* decide anything at
all, it really boils down to your whim. That's fine. After all. that's what
CLSotW is, Todd's decision for the week (after taking in the input from people
who vote... but it's not an election) is what becomes the site chosen.

Say that, please, on the site.

Personally I find that a lot LESS fun (trying to influence your whim) than
just trying to vote someone off directly, so I probably won't be voting any
more.

9 times out of 10 (or, more recently, probably 19 times out of 20), I just go
with what people vote for.  There were some really obvious ballot stuffing
attempts a few weeks ago which caused one site to go backwards, but it's not
quite correct to say that it's my decision.  Final say, yeah, but I operate it
based extremely heavily on input.  Eventually it'll be 100% on input with live
tallies and stuff.

Since you posted this to the ny.ny group I'm assuming your from that area.
Were you upset with Kaz Sasaki getting the save to beat the Yankees in Game 1
and that's why he's on the island?  That way when he gets the save in game 5
to eliminate the Yankees you can vote him off the island?  8-)

In case you haven't figured it out, I'm a native Washingtonian (and was at
Game 4 of the '95 Yankees/Mariners playoff series) so I'm rooting for the
Mariners to beat the Yankess and Sasaki to be the ultimate Survivor!
