NGLTC did a train show this past weekend, (Jan 19-20). Due to time constraints,
the layout was similar to the one that was done at our last show in November.
New parts of the layout included some additional Cafe Corners with an insert, to
make a 2x3 baseplate city “block” of Cafe Corners. Carl Wilson was inspired by
the new Rebel Trooper pack to make the Yavin rebel base from Star Wars episode
4. With the recent 3-story “Brick Inn” hotel filled with Star Wars characters,
this prompted an inside joke of either a) There was no room to live at the rebel
base, so they stayed at the hotel, and b) you could take the monorail, or a
charter shuttle bus to the “secret rebel base” located in the town (next to the
Waffle House...hey, those surviving rebel pilots have to tell some stories...)
Attendance was lighter than past shows, primarily given that there was the all
too rare occurrence of snow in Atlanta, starting about 30 minutes before the
show started. Before the snow, there was rain, so much of the Georgia DOT was
recommending everyone to stay home and not go out on the roads.
I’ll put some pics on my flickr account--soon as I decide to clean some
pictures, or upgrade to a pro account...I’m at my picture limit as a free
member.

| Are you kidding me? SIX DAYS without a posting in trains???? This really sucks. And I only have myself to blame. And I blame the holidays for my recent inactivity, but that only goes back so far.
