Hello there fellow lurkers

Now, I’ll accept that I have been particularly lax in posting my achievements over the latter half of the last year, and John’s message was just the kick up the a## I needed to stop lurking about and get my camera out. Sorry for the poor quality of the pics but I havent been able to get and decent natural light up here in the frozen north - but they are just work in progress. I have yet to sort out any decals or engraving, and I have not got anywhere near instructions for my designs, but that is my intention.

It was my intention to keep the feel very much of Lego trains whilst making real looking cars, hence they are six wide and forshortened. I have also tried to develop a particular style for all my freight cars which is not necessarily lots of true prototypical details, but the key car features and a similar style ladders, brake wheels and air reservoirs across the board.

The details I am most proud of (and will now showing off by way of drawing attention to them in a long winded way) are:
  • The clean colour breaks on the Bethgons so you don’t get colour creeping out from under the vertical tiles
  • The ‘I’ section sill beneath the bulk and spine cars
  • Getting the lattice on the FlexiBeam remotely half reasonable looking.
That’s my two penneth

Play Well

Chris

(...) That was MORE than two cents worth, Chris! Excellent work! Especially the bethgon, which is a former project of mine:-) And if I might add to you and others who have posted in this thread: please start your own threads with new MOCs and (...) (17 years ago, 22-Jan-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Are you kidding me? SIX DAYS without a posting in trains???? This really sucks. And I only have myself to blame. And I blame the holidays for my recent inactivity, but that only goes back so far. So, I'm pledging to return to the days when my mouth (...) (17 years ago, 17-Jan-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
