Idea for a track power pickup for non motored trains...

I've been racking my brain trying to think of an easy way to get power from the
track to a non motored car. For things like lights or movements etc.

I think I have something that might work.

If we take two standard wheels sets and replace one wheel with a metal one (the
other stays plastic) and we do this on one end of each of the two wheel sets in
a bogey we could run a brush from the axle up the small hole in the center (from
both wheelsets) and run them into the car. If you had a function decoder in
there for DCC you could have all sorts of coolness that is DCC controlled.

Has anyone else had thoughts on this? I'd love to hear about them and maybe we
can come up with something simple and expand our MOC creations!
