I've tried removing the 9v motor from inside a 9v train motor. Works pretty
well. Without the motor inside, it has a lot less friction.
I'm currently using this technique to power the rails on my turntable. The
turntable is 96 studs long (6 track lengths) and rotates on a circle of 9v train
track. A motorless train motor supports one end of the turntable and a wire is
run to the track on the turntable.
I'll have it at Brickfest PDX 2004.
