Always worth to take a closer look at....
My favorites in the train part have been the entry of John Neal and the
"General Purpose" of Dieter. I was a little disapointed that these entries
"flopped" in the voting. Same happened to Larry's wonderful western story with
trains.
People seem to be fed up with trains nowadays. So much buyonickels on
brickshelf instead. (For sure I am simply too old for that...)

Yes we are Methusalems in the days of the www. My copy of the Starlight engine
is still intact, but it might be my oldest MOC at the moment (only the town
hall is nearly as old like that and stil built up). I have lost any interest
in all the older MOCs sooner or later. Looking back they look so dissapiontion
primitive. I never torn a model down because need of bricks: it is just need of
space, since loose parts are better to be stored than MOCs.
If you just take a look at my "Schapen" train station on my homepage. On that
site there are lots of my buildings from 1999 (my homepage got lounched that
year on April the first) till today in chronological order. I often ask myself
how this might look in one year. Will the level of quality continue like that?
The Starlight copy is suffering under that effect too: it took over a year till
I had windows enough for 2 waggons + 1 black clubcar. When the train was
finished at last, it was too "boring" to display it at any further show.
Getting now sentimental instead of sarcastic...
Building a new MOC might help. ;-)

That entire entry was thrown together in 2.5 days of furious building just (...) (22 years ago, 24-Apr-02, to lugnet.trains)
