  Re: Wardale 5AT

(...) I'd seen the pics on BS but the DB red and black threw me off the scent. I'd vaguely heard of the loco (or the African one) I think. Although I think I would have gone for an all-wheels-coupled build I think the representation of the valve (...) (18 years ago, 22-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains)

  Wardale 5AT

A deviation from my usual Space stuff... the Wardale 5AT. Quoting the MOCPages page, "The 5AT is a 3000 horsepower, 115mph modern steam locomotive, designed by british engineer David Wardale in the late 1990's. If you have never heard of this (...)   Re: TCLTC ILTCO show at the NMRA in Philly wrap up

Although I must confess it was nice to finally see your stuff as well as others' in person. (The NMRA show being the first (...) (18 years ago, 22-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org, FTX)

TCLTC ILTCO show at the NMRA in Philly wrap up

(URL) Well, it has been 2 weeks since the BIG EVENT and so I thought I'd record some thoughts before I forgot everything. (Pics of our stuff from the show (URL) HERE>) Ross and I finally left MN at about 9pm on July 4th and drove straight thru. We (...)   Re: Questions about doing a museum show

Thanks everyone for replying with such great info and ideas. I'm a list person, so here's a list of some of what I've learned: - Best not to leave anything really fragile or difficult to rebuild out during the week when the museum staff will be (...)   Re: Flex system hose

(...) Thanks. I thought that might be the case. Hardware stores in the area I live in tend to be able to come up with just about anything you could want. I'll check it out. Thanks again, Jonathan (18 years ago, 21-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Flex system hose

(...) I've used 1/8" plastic tubing I found at a hobby shop, it is a bit stiffer than the Lego stuff but it works fine. It's only available in white, but you could probably paint it a different color. And since it's not 'official Lego', I have no (...) (18 years ago, 19-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains)

  Flex system hose

Hello, Regarding the flex system hose that is used for hand rails and such on trains: Has anyone ever tried sourcing this elsewhere other than in lego sets? Might it be available at hardware stores? Thanks, Jonathan (18 years ago, 19-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Factory Set: Checkerboard Boxcar

(...) Thanks Steve! Being able to import LDraw files into LDD was a big part of this. I pretty much did all of the designing in MLCAD and used LDD more for checking part availability, checking for proper LDraw conversion, and quick prototyping and (...)   Re: Factory Set: Checkerboard Boxcar

(...) Hi Chris, Thanks! I'm really glad to hear you like it. Yes, the red plates in the LDD trains palette are sparse but luckily they had 4 x 6 red plates which were good enough for my 6-wide needs. You had a lot more area to cover in 8-wide. (...) (18 years ago, 19-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains)

I especially love the livery on it. I'm glad to see that you were able to get LDD to do that (I'm still not as familiar as I'd like to be). steve (18 years ago, 18-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: R/C Trains on Old 12V Track

  Re: Factory Set: Checkerboard Boxcar
