Re: VP of lego direct Q&A Transcript —Thomas Avery
An excerpt of specific Technic related issues: "Q8: How about black technic beams? Why can't we get black technic beams off of Shop@Home? A8: I don't know. Q18: Can Lego Direct help the technic lines? A18: I don't know that they need our help. It's (...) (23 years ago, 20-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Hmmm, black I have plenty of (for a while, anyway). Grey & white would be nice though, and I know it's unlikely, but green'd be cool 8?) And other sizes, too. ROSCO (23 years ago, 21-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: VP of lego direct Q&A Transcript —Thomas Avery
(...) <snip> (...) Uh, you have half the world's current supply of black beams. Isn't that enough, for good? ;-D (...) Yep, I think gray, dark gray, and white would be high on my list too. TJ (always wishing for more beams, any size, any color) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: VP of lego direct Q&A Transcript —Allan Bedford
(...) Brad may not know. That's fair enough. But someone knows. And this is an issue that needs to be addressed. Think of the money being lost by not undercutting the prices found on eBay and private websites. They could sell these, but for some (...) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: VP of lego direct Q&A Transcript —John Barnes
(...) I suspect this is very much the case judging from the tone of the comments. (I was in the audience at the event.) I think Lego Direct is very much aware of AFOLs wishes and wants and tries very hard to fit us into TLC's overall goal of (...) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: VP of lego direct Q&A Transcript —John Neal
(...) lol inconsequential. They could sell (...) Priorities. Whether we agree with it or not, LD has stated that they can only offer so much at a time. So what gets offered and what doesn't? To you, the decision to offer technic beams is a (...) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: VP of lego direct Q&A Transcript —Allan Bedford
(...) Given the sheer volume of LEGO that goes through eBay in any given week I would find it hard to label it as inconsequential. As a business person I would see it as a part of my own market that was being eroded by my inability to meet customer (...) (23 years ago, 22-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: VP of lego direct Q&A Transcript —Ross Crawford
(...) Compared to their total retail sales, my guess would be that it is indeed incosequential. Just an opinion, of course! ROSCO (23 years ago, 22-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: VP of lego direct Q&A Transcript —Allan Bedford
(...) I wouldn't even begin to compare it to their total retail sales. I don't believe I did. If I gave that impression, then my mistake. However, I stand by my point that were it my company I would use it as a guage of what might be missing from my (...) (23 years ago, 22-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: VP of lego direct Q&A Transcript —Richie Dulin
(...) And you think they're not doing that already? IIRC the Guarded Inn was pretty popular on eBay... ...and the Metroliner was fairly popular... (...and cypress trees and train doors if you want to consider parts as well as sets). Cheers Richie (...) (23 years ago, 22-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: VP of lego direct Q&A Transcript —Allan Bedford
(...) I believe they're doing exactly that. Did my comments lead you to believe that I felt otherwise? (...) I think it's an excellent tool for all kinds of market data. It's a completely open arena. It's pure supply and demand. But in the end you (...) (23 years ago, 22-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: VP of lego direct Q&A Transcript —Richie Dulin
(...) So you do think LEGO's got it right? (...) Are you serious? "...if it were my company I would use it...and try to remedy" implies fairly strongly that what you suggest is (in your mind) different to what's happening now. And the overwhelmingly (...)          Re: VP of lego direct Q&A Transcript —Scott Arthur

Re: VP of lego direct Q&A Transcript —Richard Marchetti
I am no expert on these matters, but wouldn't a single excessively cross-posted message have done the trick here? Moreover, the subject matter doesn't seem particularly urgent for many of the newsgroups to which you are posting this news. What it (...) (23 years ago, 20-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)
