Brad may not know.  That's fair enough.  But someone knows.  And this is an
issue that needs to be addressed.  Think of the money being lost by not
undercutting the prices found on eBay and private websites.

lol inconsequential.

Given the sheer volume of LEGO that goes through eBay in any given week I
would find it hard to label it as inconsequential.  As a business person I
would see it as a part of my own market that was being eroded by my
inability to meet customer demands.

Is it possible to wipe out eBay LEGO?  Or stuff being sold on private sites?
No, of course not.  But it's possible to regain some of those sales and
those frustrated customers.

These aren't black and white issues, but rather multi-hued options and
decisions that look to strike a balance between what's realistically
possible and what would delight a majority of fans.

I never claim to represent the mainstream, I always refer to my thoughts as
an alternative opinion.  I'm not your typical adult LEGO fan.

They could sell
these, but for some reason they won't.  It would be nice to know the reason.

Priorities.  Whether we agree with it or not, LD has stated that they can only
offer so much at a time.  So what gets offered and what doesn't?  To you, the
decision to offer technic beams is a no-brainer.  But maybe not to someone else
(me, for instance).  Perhaps I'd like to see gray and black 1x2x2 classic
windows and anything in dark red (I do).  To me, your wants seem less wide-
stream than mine.  But that's just me.

You want list seems perfectly sane to me.  I would also enjoy windows as I
am a building builder as well as a technic fan.  I think the black technic
beams get thrown around because they are such an obvious example of fans
overpaying for them on eBay when the company could really be providing them
at a reasonable price.

The decisions being made as to what to offer are difficult indeed, but I do know
that what is said here in LUGNET influences what is being offered (Cypress
trees, anyone?)

I agree.  So that's why black technic beams keep coming up in LUGNET
threads.  ;)

Allan B.

(...) Compared to their total retail sales, my guess would be that it is indeed incosequential. Just an opinion, of course! ROSCO (23 years ago, 22-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)
