  Technic beam colours

In order of preference my favourite colours for beams is: White Gray Black blue I dislike red and find yellow is only good for excavators and things coloured yellow. The other colours are so rare as to be rendered useless (green, purple) Now what (...) (23 years ago, 27-Sep-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) I'm sure everyone has their own favourites here - my most frequently used beam colours would be: yellow red black The red and yellow were used because that was the colour of the thing I was modelling, although it could be argued that I chose (...) Let's see how close we'll get to listing all permutations of the technic colors...;-) My preference would be: black, grey, red, yellow/blue. A lot of vehicles come in all sorts of liveries making fitting parts to colour scheme a lot easier. (...) Well I have lots of (...) (23 years ago, 27-Sep-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) OK, no probs!! (...) Mine are fairly similar - black grey white red yellow blue This follows fairly closely the numbers I have of each 8?) though I probably have less white than red / yellow (never counted). ROSCO (23 years ago, 27-Sep-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Technic beam colours

Perhaps my order might be : Blue, White, Green, Grey, Red, Black, Yellow, Others. (Availability and set frequency probably influences this!) Interesting are the combinations used. The almost edible red/yellow in 8872, the cool blue/white in 8042 (...) (23 years ago, 2-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Technic beam colours

I really like the "black/gray with yellow trim" color scheme used on numerous Technic sets (8082, 8425, 8485, 8838, 8868, 8880, etc.), so my favorite beams are probably the black and gray ones. I have a lot of yellow and red beams (as they are (...) (23 years ago, 3-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic)

"Steven Lane" <Steveroblane@aol.com> (...) else. (...) Give it some time and you'll see it, in fact on a paranoid day I'm sure I can see it on the white on my skip truck already. The real trick is to put a mint white brick next to your older ones (...) (23 years ago, 3-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) My preference is: Black Dark Grey (this is more of a wish than a preference, I have loads of MOC ideas that would need long beams in Dark Grey. For the moment though they will have to use... Light Grey) Green Yellow Unfortunately I havene't (...) (23 years ago, 3-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic)

Tip from a 'huge-amounts-of-bla...collector' = me: 1] At your garage or local tank-stop: buy Car-Interior Dashboard Spray. 2] Apply lightly on 'any' Lego and whipe with soft cloth ==> a] color fresh again b] visible disappearence of scratches, (...) Hi Klaas ;) Gotta try that, but jeez, Jennifer's comments sure do depress. I think the key is to keep ole mr. sun away. My oldest lego is from 30 years ago and now pretty worn and scratched from use. But way back when, we were fussy about using (...) (23 years ago, 9-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Technic beam colours

Regarding beam colors, I approach this from a different POV. In teaching classes involving Legos I've found that life is much easier if I can provide "teams" of students with color-coded "kits" of parts for my robotics and machines courses. It (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic)
