Re: Bulk Sets (was: Re: How about "Technic Tubs" ?)

(...) I've heard that too, but I suspect they are just talking about production costs. ABS is cheap, and there's no retooling needed to make basic bricks. So from that end it is certainly profitable. But when you include the distribution costs, I'm (...) (23 years ago, 13-Oct-01, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Updates in online game

Hehe... I figured out my problem... in addition to Le Koro randomly resetting depending on what side of the cave I entered on, I hadn't yet found the golden Hau. Finding that fixed my whole problem quite easily. (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

Re: Bulk Sets (was: Re: How about "Technic Tubs" ?)

(...) I doubt anything LEGO makes, now or at any time in the past, could be classified a loss leader. There is not $19.99 worth of raw materials and packaging in that tub. (...) I think an argument could be made that it might also be a staple for (...) (23 years ago, 13-Oct-01, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.technic)

Re: Bulk Sets (was: Re: How about "Technic Tubs" ?)

(...) Lego has stated that 3033 is NOT a loss leader. (meaning it's profitable). (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.technic)

RE: How about "Technic Tubs" ???...???

(...) Ahhh, the magic Universal Set words have finally been spoken. I have my treasured 8062 in its own Plano 3720 tackle box for short trips.... I think the reason there has not been a Universal Set in a while is that it's a LOT of work to put (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.technic)

Re: How about "Technic Tubs" ???...???

(...) I hope FEW is the operative word here, Why not have a few double bend studless as well, now they ARE virtually useless. I'll don my tin helmet now cause Jennifer use's double bent beams to mount her rear mud guards, and Jon Barnes built his (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.technic)

Re: How about "Technic Tubs" ???...???

(...) Here, here!! A fairly equal selection of studded & studless would be great! Including a few of the bent studless ones. The panels have their uses, but not in a bulk tub, please!! ROSCO (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.technic)

Bulk Sets (was: Re: How about "Technic Tubs" ?)

(...) That's a shame. I consider the Blue Tub (3033) a staple set amongst AFOLs everywhere. Their content is just too essential to our building needs. Even if you only use 50% of the bricks, it's still worth the $20 price (comparing it to bulk (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.technic)

Re: How about "Technic Tubs" ???...???

(...) I'm pretty sure they were intended to compete with MegaBlox which had been producing similar tubs at similarly cut-rate prices. Lego's 3033 (just about?) completely annihilated the competition. Now that there is no competition for that (I (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.technic)

  ONLINE GAME PROBLEM

Has anybody elses online game reset because I logged in and it is now at the begining! Tim (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Re: Updates in online game

Starting anew with a new character will indeed reset the game. As long as you create a new user ID, you can come back to the game as before. It will take a little time to bring the new character up to speed; hopefully, you will have fun doing it! (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

Can 9533 LEGO DUPLO Numbers be used in LEGO System?

I want to have some numbers of letters, I am not sure if DUPLO numbers can be used in System, does anyone use them? Zhengrong (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic)

Re: How about "Technic Tubs" ???...???

(...) I agree with you there! I'd also like to see the studless beams complimented with 1/2 width "links". They are also very, very usefull. The more I get, the more usefull they seem to be. Of course we all wish for "Blue Tubs" that offer other (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.technic)

Re: How about "Technic Tubs" ???...???

(...) I think they're VERY useful. especially the long straight ones. Rounded ends allow things you could not do easily with straight (URL) (more detail) So I too would love to see a Technic Tub but would want rounded end studless beams. Just not (...)   Re: How about "Technic Tubs" ???...???

Technic in tubs or technic in bulk. Great idea, and yes limited to currently in production parts! But I would definitely want to see the studless beams, especially now they have started appearing in different lengths. I think describing them as (...)   Re: How about "Technic Tubs" ???...???

I like the idea, but I'd split into two sets: one bucket with the basics; lots of plates, lots of beams, selection of connectors and axles. one box with extra's; wheels, gears, propellors and stuff. The ides being that you'd get more of the buckets, (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.technic)

Re: How about "Technic Tubs" ???...???

I second the idea, I would probobly want one of these in black no questions asked! Lets flesh this idea out a bit and come up with a sutable contents list for one of these buckets... Given only parts still being made (so that rules out the old style (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Technic beam colours

Regarding beam colors, I approach this from a different POV. In teaching classes involving Legos I've found that life is much easier if I can provide "teams" of students with color-coded "kits" of parts for my robotics and machines courses. It (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic)
