Re: GBC does nothing for me

G'Day How about starting with something simpler? Say use the blocks from our block stacking events? Right of the top you would have large and small, black and white, giving four different items to sort, (more colours can be added later.) The (...) (...) hello Mercedes and older Iveco, uses V6, Scania, Volvo, Daf, and MAN uses Inline 6, while the new R500/R580 and the former 48/530/580 from Scania are V8, also the biggest Mercedes engines are V8. The biggest MAN/ÖAF are however a V10 18,3l. (...) (20 years ago, 27-Feb-05, to lugnet.technic)

Ackerman steering geometry : How do you make it ?

Hi, The Ackerman geometry make both steering wheels follows the proper arc when turning (the inside wheel follow a smaller arc than the outside one) : the wheels turn a different angle. (Ackerman principle is well known in France as "épure de (...) (20 years ago, 27-Feb-05, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Legos' V6's

(...) The inline-6 engine design is inherently perfectly balanced - hence most current north american truck diesel engines are inline-6 designs. For example, Cummins inline-6 diesels are used in everything from the Dodge Ram pickup, to normal (...) (20 years ago, 27-Feb-05, to lugnet.technic)

(...) One of the things you forgot to mention is that GBC is accessible and scalable for participants: -A GBC is endlessly enjoyable with one module, two modules or fifteen modules. This is a low risk type of event for people to work on, it doesn't (...) (20 years ago, 27-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics, FTX)

  Re: Legos' V6's

BMW has used I-6's in many of it's cars for decades. I'm nearly positive the 3-series still uses an I-6 today. Kyle (20 years ago, 27-Feb-05, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: Legos V6's

(...) In the US almost all tractor trailers use inline 6's. Freightliner, one of the largest truck manufactures in the US which is owned by DaimlerChrysler uses a few European Mercedes engines and they are all inline 6's. Some large trucks and (...) (20 years ago, 27-Feb-05, to lugnet.technic)

Nate- The mobile cranes I know that use V6 engines are: 1)Terex-Demag 2)Grove These two both use a Daimler Chrysler OM 906 LA V6 in the crane operator's section, and both use a Daimler Chrylser OM 502 LA V8 for the main drive. If you want to find (...) (20 years ago, 26-Feb-05, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Legos V6's

I was only talking about big rigs. Do European tractor trailers actually have V6's? Do their mobile cranes actually have V6's? I just wondered because it seems that TLC uses a V6 in every truck design. The Airtech Rig in 1994 had one. The New crane (...) (20 years ago, 26-Feb-05, to lugnet.technic)

  GBC does nothing for me

This whole GBC hasn't really inspired me at all. But thats what's so good about Lugnet, differing opinions are, if anything, encouraged. Theirs nothing wrong with GBC, but I've found the few posts offering alternatives far more intriguing, (...)   Legos' V6's

Maybe I'm crazy, but don't most trucks with a 6-cylinder engine have the cylinders inline? Every Lego truck or crane has a V6. Their designs have been like that for over 10 years. Is this just because a "V" fits in well, or do European trucks (...) (20 years ago, 26-Feb-05, to lugnet.technic)

  Front-wheel-drive wonder

  Yet another GBC submission

I've been working with Steve Hassenplug and others to hammer out the GBC standards, but sadly I've *yet* to make it to an actual GBC event. Well, here's an example of some more modules, so far only tested at home. Warning, this is my first (...) (20 years ago, 25-Feb-05, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)
