Re: My beautiful methods of storage

(...) Well, the minifigs I will use for my castle creations, they stay whole. The rest of the bunch I toss into organizers. -Chris (24 years ago, 22-Jun-00, to lugnet.storage)

Re: My beautiful methods of storage

I went to a similar problem and I found a solution at Office Depot. It's a plastic cabinet monted on caster 30" high x 15" depht x 12" large. It contain 6 drawers 4" high. Cost about $25. Into each drawers, I used small boxes (from 4 to 40) to store (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jun-00, to lugnet.storage)

Re: My beautiful methods of storage

(...) This comment, and similar ones from others, brings a question to mind... How many people store their minifigs assembled, and how many break them down into parts for storage? Me, I break my minifigs down and separately store torsos/arms/hands, (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jun-00, to lugnet.storage)

Re: My beautiful methods of storage

Shiri, Here's a few pics of my building area: (URL) use Plano tackle boxes for storing my specialty parts. Technic stuff goes in ZAG containers (the blue and red ones on the table). I also have my mini-figs in one drawer of the larger ZAG (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jun-00, to lugnet.storage)

Re: My beautiful methods of storage

I agree with Eric. I use a fishing tackle box for my minifigs, a thing with divided drawers that was originally intended to hold stuff like screws and bolts, and a another thing similar to that except it is @ 9W x 15L x 2H has movable compartment (...) (24 years ago, 21-Jun-00, to lugnet.storage)

Re: My beautiful methods of storage

(...) Ah! At last! I thought that I was the only one with an unsorted collection... Well, 20% of it is sorted, and I use several different kind of boxes. It is very difficult to build when the the pieces are mixed, when I have to build something I (...) (24 years ago, 21-Jun-00, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: Methods of storage

(...) I contacted Plano directly, and arranged to buy a supply (>100!) of their 3700 tackle boxes. If you can buy them in bulk, the price goes *way* down. (I think I paid around $2.40 each for the 3700s, you could probably get the 3600s for even (...) (24 years ago, 21-Jun-00, to lugnet.storage)

(...) I picked up some Acro Mills Bins yesterday night after having seen them in action at a friend's house. eric (24 years ago, 21-Jun-00, to lugnet.storage)

Re: My beautiful methods of storage

(...) I personally like the Plano storage boxes (3600 series). They fit nicely in most anything that can handle an 8-1/2" X 11" file. I have nearly all of my Technic pieces sorted into the Plano boxes which I have stored in a small file box I got (...) (24 years ago, 21-Jun-00, to lugnet.storage)

Re: My beautiful methods of storage

(...) I would go for the Acro Mills storage bins (Usually used for hardware like nails, screws, washers, nuts, bolts, etc.) That works great for small and some medium sized stuff plus the bins are stackable. I also have some containers I got from (...) (24 years ago, 21-Jun-00, to lugnet.storage)

  My beautiful methods of storage

Ahem.... yeah. As you can see, I store my lego *very* neatly. (URL) first two show my lego-porch, where I keep some of my lego against my will. There's just not enuff space in my room, which is shown in the next three pics. I'm very organized, can't (...) (24 years ago, 21-Jun-00, to lugnet.storage)

  Rolykits

I was wondering if others are using Rolykits for portable storage? I have 2 of them and don't know what I'd do without them. I can't find a simpler way to move small amounts of Lego from one place to another. I'll probably invest in a pair of Deluxe (...) (24 years ago, 17-Jun-00, to lugnet.storage)

Cold testing (was: Re: More Heat Testing)

(...) A cold test, huh? Sounds reasonable. I'll start it tonight with a variety of bricks. Pics will follow. Perhaps this should also include the sacrificial Timmy or Jar Jar. I'll have complete results by the end of the week. -Dave (who is quite (...) (24 years ago, 17-Jun-00, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: More Heat Testing

Well, this was a while ago but I just found it, so sue me. :-) (...) And MUCH more so if they were there for days, or months. Too bad I didn't think of that before I left my bricks in Israel... I hope they're alive when I reunite with them (next (...) (24 years ago, 4-Jun-00, to lugnet.storage)

  Official Lego storage

A few days ago I unearthed some official Lego storage trays at my parent's house (currently used for pens, sellotape etc). I would like to know their origins and as I have not found any reference on LUGNET, could someone possibly enlighten me? (...) (24 years ago, 18-May-00, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: Help! Mildew "infection"

(...) Get them out of the cardboard boxes, and store them in those large rubbermaid (or other) storage containers. Sizes may vary, but they are best for your bricks. If you don't plan on accessing them immediately, seal them with packing tape. Mine (...) (24 years ago, 24-Apr-00, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: Help! Mildew "infection"

(...) [...] Ok, that'll handle the mildewy stuff in the closet itself, but I have a sinking feeling that the rest of my Lego boxes also will start to smell of mildew. Is there any good way to fix that? (If there is, I can clean up new acquisitions (...) (24 years ago, 24-Apr-00, to lugnet.storage)

  Sorting and Creativity

One thing I have worried a little bit is whether the way I sort would inhibit creativity (either by hiding parts or by making it take too long to find parts). I'm happy to say that my sorting methods in no way inhibited my creativity when I created (...) (25 years ago, 4-Apr-00, to lugnet.storage)
