  I'd say that that's a pretty good guess.  Unfortunately, far from solving or
eliminating the problem, it makes it worse.  In effect, LEGO is saying "we'll
only deal with the issue of 'race' when it's forced upon us, and even then we'll
only deal with it in as small a forum as possible."  Establishing a separate but
equal product opportunity is hardly a great way to run a business.

Personally I belive that if they were going to make Lando flesh tone, they
should have made the rest of them flesh tone too.

  That's correct, too, and it's exacerbated by the fact that LEGO's primary
competitors have been producing figures with a variety of skintones for several
years. The issue is out in the open whether or not LEGO wants it to be.
  One wonders what TLG was thinking from the outset.  Did they plan not to
release a Lando figure at all?

(...) An interesting side note here is that LEGO has made minifigs with the "correct" color for other humanoid characters from Star Wars, such as Bib Fortuna, Gammorean Guards and ofcours Yoda.
