I think those are the 4x4 domes. I doubt there are any new parts. I
can't see what the connector rods are, though.

If you're referring to what I think you are, those are 2x4 "wedge"
plates, I'm pretty certain. You know, the ones that came out this
year along with the new curved slopes?

It may be an 8x8 radar dish in grey. The blue bit looks like a 6x6
"solid" radar dish, which I think may be a new part?
Is this a LEGO Direct model, or will it be available in retail as
well? If the former, it probably has no new parts, but may have old
parts in new colors.

Yes, that's what I'm looking forward to most. Probably mostly click
hinges and/or Technic bent liftarms.

There is no such agreement. It just makes good marketing sense to not
dilute the market for space toys by offering both Star Wars and other
Space models.
