Re: A couple stupid SW questions...

(...) you... (...) My understanding was that the B-Wing was the heavy, heavy, heavy duty fighter that could take a lot of damage from fighters and take on up to smallish capital size ships in combat. The A-Wing was the hit and run type fighter or (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: A couple stupid SW questions...

(...) Basically the Y-wing is an old fighter/bomber that by the end of the trilogy was pretty much past its useful service. The A-wing is a very fast but not very powerful fighter. Because of its speed it is better at fighting Tie-interceptors in (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: A couple stupid SW questions...

(...) you... (...) The B-wing is suppossed to have enough fire power to take on a Star Destroyer. More of a "heavy" fighter I guess. The A-wing on the other hand is a highly agile and fast fighter, much like an interceptor. The military has specific (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

  A couple stupid SW questions...

No flames please = ) I consider myself a SW fan, but by no means do I know as much as many of you... What is the purpose of the B-wing and A-wing? (vs. the X-wing and Y-wing) I realize the x-wing is a mainline fighter and the Y-wing is a (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: ok, lets play this again, what sets should we see in November

(...) Well I recently had the opportunity to see Ep#1 again and the updated editions of SW 4-6. here are my thoughts on a variety of sets: Why not a stormtrooper polybag? (hey, you never know) I think a Tantive 5/blockade runner and a Star Destroyer (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: ok, lets play this again, what sets should we see in November

(...) Definitely a good point. That's why I doubt a $50 Imperial Shuttle will be produced. It's not recognizable enough to warrant such a high price tag. This is a guess, but I think it's recognition would be comparable to that of the A-wing or (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: ok, lets play this again, what sets should we see in November

(...) Cool idea, kind of like a "TIE Fighter Bucket?" Come to think of it, It would be cool to have an Imperial Bucket with half a dozen Sotrm Troopers, Vader, Palpatine, and a whole slew of pieces that lend themselves well to Imperial vessels. I (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: ok, lets play this again, what sets should we see in November

(...) Cool yes. Happen never. I don't think TLC would ever do it just because they would make more money releasing them as separate sets. Along some similar lines though I have been thinking that if I had 2 UCS TIE Interceptor sets I could build all (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: ok, lets play this again, what sets should we see in November

(...) How about a $20 set that can includes sufficient pieces (and instructions) for making either the TIE Fighter or TIE Intercepter? That'd be way cool and flexible. Steve (24 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) emotional (...) Heh. People seem to get really upset when you express an opinion about Star Wars that is skeptical or slightly negative. I love it too, but I'm also able to look at it objectively from time to time. Consider all the things that (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: ok, lets play this again, what sets should we see in November

Ah, well, I don't have the Behind the Magic CD because Lucasarts has chosen to ignore the Mac platform. Thanks for the official source. That's all I wanted. ~Mark (...) vaguely (...) upset (...) on (...) just (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: ok, lets play this again, what sets should we see in November

(...) $50? For two normal TIES? I would hate that, and I know they could do it for less. The TIE design definately needs inmproving, I really hated the way the Advanced was modeled. I don't need a TIE with a rediculous convolution of bricks and (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: ok, lets play this again, what sets should we see in November

(...) Two ships would probably make it a $50 set. Two regular TIEs would be awesome (I for one would love that set), but more likely it'd be a set with a TIE + TIE Interceptor/Bomber. Also, the mandatory hangar stuff. (...) Did you see my other (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: ok, lets play this again, what sets should we see in November

(...) I think we have to have at least on good tiff per month in the Star Wars section. Otherwise, it can't seem to support itself. We are all an emotional bunch when it comes to our perrsonal knowledge on this topic, I only discovered this year (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: ok, lets play this again, what sets should we see in November

(...) You are fighting for nothing guys..:-) The Outrider is there (not in Ep.1, by the way, in special edition of Ep.4, I think it's just a typo but, just for the other case) whether it is clear or not. The "Behind The Magic" CD from the Lucas (...) (24 years ago, 7-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

RE: Australian Millenium Falcon Release Date and $$$ = IMPORTING necessity

Thanks for backing up my memory there, Peter. I think what you got was the price for the X-WING [collectors edition] From memory, that was the only set THIS YEAR [PRE GST] to be over the $300 RRP [other than the train, possibly]. $359 sounds like (...)   Re: Australian Millenium Falcon Release Date and $$$ = IMPORTING necessity

(...) This can't be right. I think the person at LA must have swapped a two with a three somewhere along the line. When I range LA back in February I got a price list for all of the 2000 Star Wars range. The exchange rate has got worse, but see (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.starwars)
