  O.S.S. Pastier

OK, here goes my 2nd MOC posting. The first was the New Omicron Republic Senate - (URL) is one of the surviving members of the space fleet which escaped the original planet of Omicron; the O.S.S. Pastier. You can read about some of her history on my (...) (20 years ago, 1-Feb-05, to lugnet.space) !

I forgot to post a picture... (URL) (20 years ago, 1-Feb-05, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) get rid of the yellow cast and maybe get sharper pictures, and take more pictures. Especially some interior pictures. Okay, things I like. I like the way the ship's craft fit so snugly into their bays, and the ways the bays fold out of the (...) (20 years ago, 4-Feb-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: O.S.S. Pastier

(...) George- Thanks for the criticism - I definitely appreciate it. I need to fiddle with the camera to get some better pics (and I need a background to get some more even color). There are actually plenty of interior shots but they're a little (...) (20 years ago, 4-Feb-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: O.S.S. Pastier

(...) The nose itself doesn't work for me. It doesn't seem to match the rest of the ship. It seems like it needs to be longer and have a higher center of gravity. Actually, now that I look at it again, here's my take on the overall shape: You did a (...) (20 years ago, 5-Feb-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: O.S.S. Pastier

(...) Tony, first off - thanks for the honest criticism. Its VERY much appreciated. I knew the ship has lots of problems (mainly due to the way it was built and designed - it started off as a study for a vehicle bay and kinda grew backwards without (...) (20 years ago, 7-Feb-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: O.S.S. Pastier

(...) - The "playset" feel: the way you incorporated auxiliary craft and breakaway sections in order to reach different places on the ship - The overall shape: I think it worked out well. Each section could be worked on for slight improvement, like (...) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.space)

In lugnet.space, Nick Kappatos wrote:> (...) Nick, thanks for the comments; I appreciate them! Yeah, the photography hurts, no doubting that. I was so focused on getting things actually in focus that I didn't realize how bad the lighting was. I am (...) (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: O.S.S. Pastier

(...) AhHA, but you assume the quality-of-life standards apply in a spaceship, and that 24-hour cycles are the order of the day. There are no sunrises in the void. Go with 2 12-hour shifts, have the engineering/shuttlebay crews share two people, and (...) (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: O.S.S. Pastier

(...) Heck, more than that, you are assuming minifigs *sleep*. I didn't exit my dark ages long ago, but I can tell you over the course of several years, I've yet to catch even *one* of my minifigs sleeping. Not so much as closing a painted eye. If (...) (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: O.S.S. Pastier

(...) Hahaha! Ironically enough, I was going to post almost the exact same stuff you said earlier today, but got distracted and wandered off to like, work and stuff. Anyway, the Tribunal does indeed have a crew of 49, but it's a crapton bigger than (...) (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: O.S.S. Pastier

(...) SNIP (...) Well-detailed, Adrian. This should be helpful to future SHIP & Moonbase builders. Although, if *I* was the first officer, and I had to hotbunk with the janitor, I would probably ace the captain and dump his corpse in the hydroponics (...) (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: O.S.S. Pastier

(...) Here is the one argument that I actually thought of ahead of time and had issues with. The captain on the Pastier has his own quarters, but the senior officers get to share the crew quarters on B-deck, with up to 6 people in the room at a (...) (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.space)
