Hey Rick,

I’m glad you like this ship. Now I actually see that it does follow some of the same ideas seen in your creations.

Hull: Very nice, with the subtle snot technique, I like the fact you used those 1x2 hinge thingers. Very nicely done. the checkered effect is quite nice and gives a good contrast to the rest of the hull. If i wasnt so far into my ship, I would mimic it. The ship’s shape makes it look slow, but the corvette means it can be quite fast too. I would suggest some sort of directional thruster packs or something for Y/P/R manuvering.

The checkered strip is just something I picked up from looking at all those WWII/Crimson Skies planes on brickshelf.

As for vernier (directional) thrusters: You can actually see the spots where I had planned to place them. I actually had a pair on the day before, but took them off because they cluttered things up too much. Basically, I omitted them because of aesthetic reasons, which might sound silly to some people. :-(

Engines: quite nice. exactly what i have thought before for an engine to a small corvette or gunship. Greeb on housing is subtle and minimal, and makes it look outstanding.

Yeah, all of my last big ships, the Avenger & Vanguard-class, have had engines (more specifically, the part from which the actually exhaust comes out) that are built in two identical halves and then connected together. I think I picked this up from one of Paul Baulch’s earlier creations and have been using it ever since. I just love how the engines are the same on the bottom as they are on the top.

Arrays: Forward: very nice assortment of large and small greeb. nice color sectioning. Underside: Nicely done, very minimal and i love the way the torpedoes are strapped on, literally. I also like how the missile packs were strapped on to a fashion. The turret itself looks nice, except your rail guns look more like conventional slug throwers from a modern day navy ship.

Yeah, the weapons originally should have been mounted on racks or something, but I gave that idea up.

As for the guns, yeah they do look a bit too conventional.

Interior: nicely done, I love the snot to keep the decks on tight. the Shower is going in my “Idea” folder for later use. ;) I suggest putting something between the two crew members, perhaps some sort of battlefield layout console.

Heh, go ahead, I think I’m just putting together ideas other people have used a long time ago.

All in all, a very fine ship from a very fine builder. KUTGW.

Thank you Rick. Happy building. :-)
