Iron Reich Shuttle: U-25 "Golden Shower"

(URL) Finally I have finished my Iron Reich Assault Shuttle. In honor of my good friend and one of the best builders around, Keith Goldman, I have named the ship the "Golden Shower" (there are two golden dishes on the nose of the ship to signify (...)   Re: Iron Reich Shuttle: U-25 "Golden Shower"

(...) Is it just me, or do others also know the not so child friendly meaning of the term "golden shower"? Jeff p.s. In the case of "golden shower", I'm not sure if Google is really your friend. (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Iron Reich Shuttle: U-25 "Golden Shower"

(...) The ship is great, but perhaps you should reconsider the name considering the meaning of the term "golden shower." Or was that deliberate? (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Iron Reich Shuttle: U-25 "Golden Shower"

(...) Yeah, name was deliberate. Hence why the picture on brickshelf only has the name "Golden". It's a play on Keith's last name. Funny how the first two people to respond only really react to the name. sheesh, makes one want to go back to smoking (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Iron Reich Shuttle: U-25 "Golden Shower"

(...) Of course it was deliberate! It's an obvious allusion to Ovid's (URL) Specifically, line 11 in the linked text. Why? What did you think he meant? Dave! FUT lugnet.off-topic.lit...y-snobbery (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Iron Reich Shuttle: U-25 "Golden Shower"

(...) I have no idea what you're talking about. It's a reference from a (URL) Frank Zappa song> and God knows that Frank Zappa would never sing about something dirty. Why, I think just last year, Frank Zappa was inducted into the Americans For (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) Once again Dave Schuler (URL) himself to be a God Among Men. And I didn't even know lugnet had a .off-topic.literary-snobbery forum. Wicked Cool! -Crackhead Lenny (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Iron Reich Shuttle: U-25 "Golden Shower"

(...) Someone's been reading my press releases! (...) It doesn't see too many posts lately, but it's an enjoyable forum in its way. Anyway, that's a cool ship. I especially like the detail in pics u-25009 through u-25012. Do these shots show the (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) I don't know about anyone else, but I think it looks just like a Telefunken U-47. (2 URLs) AndroDan>> Tony Hafner (URL) www.hafhead.com> (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing that I get that reference... "I got a better idea!" JohnG, GMLTC fut off-topic.fun (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Iron Reich Shuttle: U-25 "Golden Shower"

(...) Well, I know very little (okay, nothing) about assault shuttles... but wow, the use of the slopes on the nose is very well done! Nicely played Mr. Bo-benny! The only complaint I have is no new silly Lenny pics ~ that's just disappointing! (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

In lugnet.space, Leonard Hoffman wrote: snip (...) So, uh, where are the hidden lasers? Awesome job with the cramped ww2 sub styled interior. I think this could maybe use an engine room, though. I also think it would be really cool if this thing (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Iron Reich Shuttle: U-25 "Golden Shower"

(...) Thanks for that Janey. If you're looking for silly Lenny pics, may I recommend checking out the (URL) Ophelia>. I dont know why I didn't include silly pics with the Golden. Oh wait, I do know. The Golden is such an amazing ship, with skills (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Iron Reich Shuttle: U-25 "Golden Shower"

(...) Actually, it's pretty good. The name (U-25) conjurs up images of German WW-II submarines. Your ship fits that theme rather well. I like the submarine like external shape done in the gray colors. The somewhat cramped interior, which is (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) Macross. In the Robotech (hacked) version, I believe they called this the Daedalus Attack. Actually this was also the name of Episode 6 ("Daedalus Attack"). Here is a bad (small) picture on this page. It's the third picture down: (URL) (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Iron Reich Shuttle: U-25 "Golden Shower"

(...) Oh wow, thanks, my thirst for silliness has been quenched for the time being. Just don't hold out too long. It could be very problematic for us (the collective 'us', in this case meaning 'me'). Also a very nice ship! Holy man Lenny, are you (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Iron Reich Shuttle: U-25 "Golden Shower"

(...) I love the shuttle. Nice detail. As for the name I immediately thought of a song by the Battered Wives, "Wake me when its over". They were a punk band in Canada in the late seventies/early eighties that got into just a little hot water over (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Iron Reich Shuttle: U-25 "Golden Shower"

(...) It does have an engine room, altho you can't see it. There is space for it, but not detailed interior. The U-25, like the (URL) Zhukov>, has a extremely radioactive power source such that humans can't be around it unless it is powered down and (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Iron Reich Shuttle: U-25 "Golden Shower"

I find your inclusion of interiors much more offensive that the name....what a shame to waste a perfectly excellent hull design with interiors. Still, the State appreciates your sacrifice. -Keith (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Iron Reich Shuttle: U-25 "Golden Shower"

(...) Thank you.. I try. I really try. You hear that! I TRRYYY!!! (...) That is a great name for a band!! People get so fussy over the weirdest things. I mean, what if the band WAS a group of battered wives, what then? Meanwhile, I'll have to go to (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Well... I like the overall shape of the ship, and the interior detail is impressive. Good work! Brent (20 years ago, 14-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Iron Reich Shuttle: U-25 "Golden Shower"

Lenny, very nice ship! I personaly find it a good source of inspiration (I am not talking about its name...). Only one minor concern : funny orientation for the crew desk, he he! Over all your "long" ships, I think this one is my favorite. Cheers, (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jul-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
