Oh man, dude, I didn't mean THAT much wider. I'm assuming the "16" you
mentioned is total outer corridor width with a 12 stud span inside. I'm afraid
that if corridors went to 16 wide, they would take up too much of the wall
space. Someone who had a module with corridors on all 4 sides would have
limited space to hang space art, install airlock windows or attach mechanical
doohickies. Then the 4 corridor guys would think, "Man, if it wasn't for Fuzzy,
I could've hung my Dahli 8X12 mosaic there. I could've put in a window my
minifigs could actually get a decent view out of. I could've built my Fleebnork
intrustion alarm controls on that wall, BUT NO! Fuzzy had to go and screw it
all up. Fuzzy just HAD to have his mammoth 16 wide corridors, when 12 would've
been plenty. Hey, I have a stick of dynamite, a detonator, some stamps and
Fuzzy's address around here somewhere. Heh, heh, heh." That is NOT what I
want to happen. How is someone like me supposed to tell a mail bomb from a
BrickLink shipment?
Say... why not 12? A 12 wide corridor would double the interior width from
4 studs to 8, and yet not quite dominate the center of a module wall like a 16
wide one would. If the minifigs needed to get something that's more than 8
studs wide into a module, then they should've thought ahead and built the module
around it...or lower it in through roof ports.
Anyway, that's my 2¢. I really like the removable corridor idea too. It
would be really sweet if removable corridors weren't connected by studs at all;
instead they slid in on tiles and then attach at the base of the wall with
magnets.

| Before I pass out, what do you think? Fuzzy has once again brought up one of the most requested Moonbase standard mods. If we added a wide corridor variant, how wide would it be? 16? Think about it. I'm thinking at this point it would do no harm at (...) (21 years ago, 1-Sep-03, to lugnet.space)
