Hi,
As I stated earlier, I've played around with Track Designer to see how
things would fit...
I've drawn a few layouts, all based on the idea that train tracks would be
installed on the edges of the modules.
http://www.wegmuller.org/lego/moonbase/basic.gif : this one is very simple
and does not require any special module to work. It features a "behind the
scenes" rail yard (designed for short trains), to keep a variety of trains
ready to go.
http://www.wegmuller.org/lego/moonbase/fig8.gif : this one uses a crossing
with two tracks runing through a base made up of only four modules.
http://www.wegmuller.org/lego/moonbase/mmouse.gif : this one uses two
crossings and has a passing track. This layout requires that three modules
be "train friendly". Those would probably be a station anyway...
http://www.wegmuller.org/lego/moonbase/moontrain.gif : In addition to the
passing track, this layout requires that modules inside curves be aware of
this fact. I think the recently published "commons" module would work for
this...
Greetings,

| Hi, First, thanks to all for the positive feedback! Space Trains :-) sounds like an interesting idea! I wonder if we could define a "low rider" kind of train that could run under the corridors... I think this was part of the idea behind the (...) (22 years ago, 13-Aug-02, to lugnet.space)
