  Re: Spybotics vs Cricket

(...) I may definitely be confused. I was looking at the Spybot.h header recently and saw this: const iDirection = 4 //world & target (R/O) const cLeft = 0 //world[nBot,iDirection] & target[iDirection] values const cLeftOfCentre = 1 //here zone only (...)   RE: Spybotics vs Cricket

(...) John, I think you may be confused about the IR detectors. There are only two and they are facing forwards. The 2 white parts facing forward and the white part facing backwards are low power IR emitters.... Cheers, Ralph (22 years ago, 2-Aug-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics, lugnet.robotics)

  RE: Default Programs

John, Thanks for this...I figured it was buried somewhere in there but I caould not find it. Cheers, Ralph (22 years ago, 2-Aug-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

  Re: Default Programs

(...) Buried in the readme file: 5L. USING THE SPYBOTICS BUILT-IN PROGRAM The built-in program in your Spybot works as follows: The built-in program scans the LEDs a couple of times while playing a short tune, prior to starting to move around. When (...) (22 years ago, 2-Aug-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

  RE: Programming multiple controllers

LEGO said (althow I haven't tried it) that all the IR controllers were compatable. That would mean not only Mana, but also the RC Nitro Flash, which also has three channels. So you can have a Spybot battle a Mana AND a Nitro flash... Steve ----- (...) (22 years ago, 2-Aug-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

  Spybotics Comms

As anyone already tried, using LASM, MindScript or NQC, to program a Spybot and explore it's comms capabilities ? ...be it with a Manas or with a RCX/Scout ? Anyone tried the VLL output and input feature ? thxs, mc. (22 years ago, 2-Aug-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

  RE: Programming multiple controllers

As anyone tried a Manas Controller on a Spybot and vice-versa, a Spybot Controller on a Manas Unit ? thxs, mc. (...) (22 years ago, 2-Aug-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

  Re: Default Programs

Hi Ralph, I've tried the default program on my Gigamesh yesterday... Describing this with words is difficult ! The basic behaviour seems indeed to wander about, but things gets more interesting when you put your remote to "action" mode and press (...) (22 years ago, 2-Aug-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

  Spybotics Page

Hey, Tonite I received the TechnoJaw by mail, so with a little fanfare and hoopla, I put it together. After a few test programs and such, I decided it was time for a head-to-head competition between Big G and TechnoJaw (nickname-to-be-announced) (...)   Default Programs

All, The default programs for the Spybots can be downloaded from the Spybot Status Screen. I have two questions... 1. Are they different for each Spybot? 2. Can anyone describe the default program in words? To me, it looks like the Spybot is (...) (22 years ago, 2-Aug-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

  Preliminary BricxCC Spybotic support

If you are interested in trying out a new release of BricxCC containing very preliminary support for the Spybotic brick send me an e-mail and I'll let you know how you can download a copy. So far BricxCC can compile and download programs to the (...) (22 years ago, 2-Aug-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  RE: Firmware

(...) As far as I know, the EEPROM on the chip is a small space where the bytecodes live. The RAM for data is in a different place on the chip. The RCX was unique in that the uploaded firmware and data RAM were in the same external chip. The Spybots (...) (22 years ago, 29-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

  Firmware

Does anyone know (for sure) if the firmware on the spybotics can be replaced? I assume that having the programs in eprom (or whatever it is) means the firmware is in the same long-term-memory type of place, so the firmware is pre-loaded. Can anyone (...)   Re: gigamesh problem

(...) I was having serial port problems and couldn't get the software to agree with me that the spybot was properly plugged in and turned on. My two expansion COM ports work as far as flashing the red light on the cable (and auto recognition by the (...) (22 years ago, 29-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

  Re: gigamesh problem

(...) Playing with Big G all weekend :) I noticed that when you first turn on Gigamesh and use the remote right off, it will go backwards when you press the forwards button, then about 1 second later, it will go forwards (after it's done all it's (...)   RE: gigamesh problem

(...) I was wondering when this was going to come up. You probably didn't set the Spybot type properly. If you look closely, all the Spybots except Snaptrax have a simple geartrain that reverses the motor direction. Snaptrax drives things right off (...)   gigamesh problem

Has anyone else had their Gigamesh run (it seems) backwards when using the default program? Without any fiddling with the controller device I pressed the run button on my Gigamesh once I'd built it. It works as I expected except it moves backwards (...) (22 years ago, 29-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

  Re: Programming multiple controllers

Don't you wish they'd supplied a booklet! A couple of diagrams of what communicates what to what and when and how would have been very useful, especially after the batteries start running down and its not clear which element isn't doing what it's (...)   Re: Programming multiple controllers

(...) Thanks for the pointers! I got three to work independantly now. Rather odd that with four different robots, LEGO didn't design in 4 differnt channels as well. The way the remote is set up, it could have worked like David Koudys suggested. (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

  Re: Programming multiple controllers

(...) I like Ralphs way better... To quickly change b/w 'bots using 1 controller, switch to 'lock mode' (straight down) and press a button (1-3) *without* pressing the 'key' button. This just changes the 'channel' on the controller and not on the (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)
