From further testing I realised that the data that the IR Tower is sending is
been recieved by the RCX (woohoo) even though a collision is reported for
every sent packet. However, the IR Tower does not recieve anything from the
RCX even when I slow or stop the packets being sent.

Any ideas ?

Michael, have you rebuilt lnpd with the transceiver.c i sent you ? The
collision problem should completely go away then. I could also send you
a statically linked version of my latest version of lnpd, just to check
it isn't a compiler problem.

To really make sure the IR-Tower doesn't receive anything, i'd suggest
the following test: Modify lnptest for the PC, so that it just calls
lnp_init() and then calls pause() in an endless loop. This will make
sure the tower is kept alive. Start lnpd with the following command:
lnpd -d -l- -vlia
Now, you should see some output for every packet that arrives from the
RCX.
