  Extending IR communications

Greetings helpful companions. Now that I've buttered you up, let's move on... I've built a robotic arm using my RCX 1.0 brick. I'm controlling it via my computer with LeJOS (not important, I think). What my issue arises is if my arm rotates, the IR (...) (19 years ago, 4-Aug-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Anyone using Mac beige G3

Hi all, I having trouble connecting a PowerMac G3 (beige model, 233MHz) to the IR tower. I've tried NQC, MacNQC but keep getting "Error: no response from IR tower". I've also tried ZTerm to see if I can get an echo back. The Green LED in the tower (...) (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

(...) You can use lnp_logical_write. But - the IR tower automatically turns off if nothing has been sent through it, so in order to see the data coming in, you have to keep sending something through the tower. [...] -- Regards, Modemch (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

I feel kind of dumb: the serial port was disabled in the BIOS.   LegOS, lnpd, and networking

It seems to me that a lot of the discussion lately has been on networking multiple IR (infrared) clients using legOS. Is the IR tower using an ID? This would identify messages from the IR vs an RCX. Check your BIOS settings to see if those ports are enabled, maybe instead of auto set them manually in BIOS.
