|
| Hi all, I having trouble connecting a PowerMac G3 (beige model, 233MHz) to the IR tower. I've tried NQC, MacNQC but keep getting "Error: no response from IR tower". | (...) IR tower inference probably is not the case since I have previously downloaded the whole brickOS system with the firmdl3 program. Only the dll does not work. | I feel kind of dumb: the serial port was disabled in the BIOS. However, now that it is enabled and is assigned COM1 (and shows up in Device Manager under Ports), I'm still having problems: C:nqc>nqc -SCOM1 -v -d test.nqc Downloading Program:Tx: 55 (...) Ever since I enabled the serial port in the BIOS, the green light will only come on now when NQC is trying to transmit, which is what's supposed to happen. | mac powerbook 5300 communicates with the IR tower, but no response from the brick. palm 130 with pbrick, also no response from the brick. | Check your BIOS settings to see if those ports are enabled, maybe instead of auto set them manually in BIOS. Maybe soft reset is not enough to reset the port, but I doubt it, just to check it, unplug your box for couple of seconds. "Federico (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
