Hey, Rob, that's what I was doing last night as well.. but I was installing
the w2kpro as my virtual machine (VMWare).  However, I ran into some system
problem and I have to do this again today.  If it works with the w2kpro on
your toshiba satellite laptop, it may very well also work as a VM as well.
I hope it will so that I don't have to deal with the backup, restore
hassle...

thanks,
EM

PS:  just to clarify the OS compatibility issue... the tower works just fine
with w2kpro, win2003 pro, xp, and xp pro with a combination of desktops (all
from Dell).  This craching problem seem to only happen to this particular
Toshiba model... Satellite P25...

OK, I have the problem fixed.  You may not like the remedy, but it worked
lastnight flawlessly.
Oh, and the PCMCIA USB 1.1 card did not work.  The computer did the same
thing as before (locked up).

I Installed Windows 2000 Pro on my Toshiba laptop lastnight (you'll have • to
download all the drivers for win2k you need from the Toshiba website prior
to doing this - for the restore CD does not have ALL drivers you need). • It
took about 2 hours from start to finish to install Win2k, install all
drivers, and go to Windows Update and get all needed service packs, but • the
results is: MY USB IR TOWER WORKS!!!!!!!

Rob
