I've gone ahead and released a new version of BricxCC. Get it while it's hot! :-) There are a few rough edges in this release, primarily in the pbForth console. well, the IR tower is fired when I tested out with different powered hubs. I used 2.0 powered hub, the same symptom occured... the OS crashed in the identical fashion. Just to verify the verdict... yes, it did work with w2kpro installed on this laptop. One note is that w2k vanilla does not support wireless 802.1g device, which is what comes with this toshiba satellite p25. Nathan, I have done this trouble shooting step, ie. changing the timing. Unfortunately, it did not work. But, thank you though. Well, the a W2Kpro virtual machine approach did not work either... 		Serial to USB Adapters for iMac
Hello Up until yesterday my nephew has been using the Xircom USB to Serial adapter on an iMac (Blueberry 350 ) with MPW NQC quite successfully. Now NQC seems to be able to transmit via the adapter (the green data light flashes on the adapter and on (...) (24 years ago, 26-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

Hey, Rob, that's what I was doing last night as well.. but I was installing the w2kpro as my virtual machine (VMWare). However, I ran into some system problem and I have to do this again today. I don't know the schematics of that sensor interface, but I think it's basically a bad idea to drive a device that needs 30 to 50 mA from a powersource that can only output about 10 mA. My first guess would be that the RCX doesn't have firmware loaded (If you see "00.00" on the display, firmware is loaded, if you just see an icon and "1", then it isn't). Second guess (...)
