Re: where to buy individual parts?

(...) Beware! A normal serial cable, with the attachment screws on each side of the D-shell, doesn't fit down the recess on the back of the tower (or at least, mine doesn't). regards, Ian SMith (23 years ago, 29-Nov-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

I am using a serial tower with a Keyspan adapter and the setup works great for NQC following your readme file. I had been wondering though, (...)   reliability of quad speed LNP

Does anyone have any data on the reliability of quad speed LNP? I've been using quad speed LNP for downloading programs to my 1.0 RCX for some time, and never had a problem. Recently I'd bowored a friends 1.0 RCX so that my bot could have two RCXs. (...) (23 years ago, 25-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: Power to RCX

I investigated this issue a while back an have taken apart all four of my RCX's (1.0 w. adapter, 1.0 w/o adapter, and 2 2.0's from an RIS1.5 and and RIS2.0). They all have internal voltage regulators. I've written the number down somewhere on this (...) (23 years ago, 2-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: RCX as a PGP engine

(...) If you need floating point numbers the leJOS JVM for the RCX uses floating point: (URL) seems like a very intersting idea. I actually wanted to skip the RCX altogether and somehow link up a networking protocol using just the IR Towers. One (...) (23 years ago, 9-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  New version of NQCEdit

Version 1.6 of NQCEdit is now released. This program is a front-end IDE for the NQC command line compiler that offers syntax coloring.   Need help with NQC

I just wrote a program and I can't get it to work. I download it to the RCX and it just runs its motors. I look at the display and push on the bumper and it has those little triagles. So it is not hardware because the RCX reads that the bumper in (...) (23 years ago, 26-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: RIS2 Upgrade on W95 & Pentium(I)

(...) Well, I have a fully functional RIS 1.5 including the serial tower. I got the RIS2 "Upgrade" disk from S@H. It's installer checks for OS and bails when it finds W95. And, of course, the .cab files are password protected, so, none of this (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics)

Re: reliability of quad speed LNP

So with inverting every other message byte were you able to work at 4x? Were you then also able to work at close range at 4x? It would seem easy to patch LNP to automatically do this inversion. I'll have to give this a try. thanks, mark (23 years ago, 28-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Heya all ! Sorry if this was discused before but is it possible to control or program for example two RCX bricks with one tower from one PC so they work indifferently from eachothers in ONE model ? - Thanx ! - Rene (23 years ago, 18-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics)

(...) Hi Mike, Unfortunately there is no possibility under Robolab 2.5 that the RCX might itself access the data collected in the log. Robolab 2.5 is based on LEGO-firmware 2.0, which has many new features, but not this one. If you want to do your (...) (23 years ago, 4-Apr-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.robolab)

I just tried this and it has no effect. By the way, I'm using Cygwin B20 under Windows 98 with a com port IR thing, and LegOS 0.2.5. The same thing happened using WinLegOS and 0.2.3. Pressing the PRGM key has no effect in any situation - I assume it (...) (23 years ago, 7-Apr-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)
