I have a tentative solution to this problem. I've written a DLL that will also allow me to change some interesting stuff like baud rate and imeouts on the tower. Before anyone replies to my previous message, found the problem. I have a light over my desk and this was interfering with the IR transmission. I just installed the software for Vision Command. VC uses the 2.0 firmware. I have not had any problems with the 2.0 firmware on my RCX 1.0 brick (from the RIS 1.5 set).
