I have reached the same stage as Rich had about a year ago: demos behave exactly

appreciate any hints where should I look for ideas.

I use cross-compiler and BrickOSXTools from M. Zapp. I use NQC to download the
brickos.srec file (after properly renaming, of course:-).

How did you do this? Since I can't get firmdl3 to download it, I wanted to try
this, but had no success (renamed it as brickOS.rcx--but that's probably not
right).

P.S. Once I actually get it working, I'll post more details on what I did.

OK, I've got a cross compiler that SEEMS to work with both C and C++. At least
all the demo code compiled without complaint. However, I can't get firmdl3 to
work. Tried downloading brickOS.srec with Lejos, but it just locked up my brick
(had to take the batteries out).

Bottom line is, I have no way of testing it.

I'm not sure why M. Zapp's utilities aren't working. They worked before (on
Jaguar). Is it a change in the way Panther handles USB? Is it just because my
cross compiler isn't actually creating junk which locks up the tower? I just
don't know.

I'm working on getting a Linux box set up, and see if I have any more luck that
way. Once I get things working on the Linux side, I can hopefully track down the
problem.

But, just in case anyone else has any ideas, this is what happens when I try to
download...

firmdl3 --debug brickOS.srec
Hary Mahesan - USB IR Tower Mode.
sendrecv 6:

(at this point the tower lights up for about a second--then nothing happens
until I ctrl-c out).
