A lot of computer connectors are designed for "installation" connection, not repeated connect and disconnect. I would suggest you install a short male to female "pigtail" cable to relieve wear and tear on your already failing connector. Use of such (...) (24 years ago, 14-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

WHile i was plugging in the cable for the IR tower, i heard a snap and noticed that some pins on the plug got shoved halfway into the computer. How should i fix this. Also If i were to get a USB adapter for the plug, and plugged it into the (...) (24 years ago, 14-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Heh...I left out the key word...That being what's the "MAXIMUM" voltage and/or mA it'll take. I want those 'lil motors running with max torque/output -but I'd rather not fry my RCX's 'lil brain. And even #24 guage is just a wee bit too big for (...) (24 years ago, 14-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

I don't know much about mechanics or walkers, but what about a gyro device that's more stable than a rotational sensor. Surely someone out there would know how to use one of these to "balance" a walker. Of course this means powering the gyro to spin (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Hi There, Hmm, you found the loophole! Okay, the rules have been changed to indicate that all cans must be crushed at least 50%. Sorry if this one has been suggested: (URL) have seen two others, but searches came up empty and didn't someone post a brick sorter that read in a sequence of 1x2 tiles to produce an "order" to be "picked" from hoppers of different colour? So while trying to modify my brick to accept 9v from an AC adapter, I managed to blow the SMT diode/fuse. Anyone know the rating (or part #) of the fuse/diode so I can replace it? While I'm at it, anyone know what voltage/mA the RCX can take as (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Doesn't a machine that does nothing score perfectly? If so, my entry is an RCX sitting next to three cans. It finishes the instant it starts. You have a formula time * height * bonus = score, with small being better. So a robot that does no crushing (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)
