  Re: DJGPP & LegOS

I had once burned a CD-R with the entire conents of my DJGPP and LegOS directories with working binaries for firmdl.exe (for uploading your .srec firmware, includes the fast Xmit mode) and dll.exe (for loading your compiled programs) for someone who (...)   Re: Pole-Balancing Robot

(...) That's really cool! The video rocked--it's really quite nifty to see a robot trying to adapt in realtime to its situation. Iain suggested we do something like this for rtl13.   Pole-Balancing Robot

While I know a few other people have done this before (even though I can't find anything online!), this is new to me. But I thought I'd give it a go anyway. This is my first attempt at doing a "pole-balancing" robot. It's hard! Suposedly there are (...) (23 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Compass or Gyro

About the most economical way to install a compass is the Dinsmore analog unit. It has two analog outputs which you will need to do some serious processing on, they aren't sin and cos, so you have to do a sort of arctan and then lookup table (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Compass or Gyro

(...) Derek, what you need to assess is how stable you need a reading (I guess you want an heading). A compass needs a stable platform to provide you with a decent value. Any acceleration (turning is a kind of acceleration) is going to spoil you (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Syngress Web Site For Ferrari's Mindstorms

Yes, very odd. After I signed in and copied the link, I got to the NQC file. Thanks. I'm using NScape 4.76. Never recall having that happen before. I'm surprised they don't have an errata on the book. I've noted at least 5-6 obvious errors in the (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Re: Scheduler patch

Joel, I had planned on another post to provide a link to the code sample, but have run very short on time. I will try to get that up soon. I believe the sensor handling issue is a real issue.   Re: Following a Line with a Bad Start

(...) Usually, if your robot starts perpendicular to the line, it will move like it's in a sharp turn, and then it will proceed to follow the line. (sometimes, a 90 degree turn is allowed in the course) Generally, with this type of thing (line (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Syngress Web Site For Ferrari's Mindstorms

Thanks. When I do that I get to a page with a number of book titles on the left. I then select the Mindstorms book, and get to a page that appears to just advertise (add to cart) the book.   Re: ArtBot -- The Inside Story (program)?

I think I've discovered my hangup with the redraw capability. It is likely that it does not need a line following method. After one set of three petals is drawn, all one needs to do is to detect where the last line drawn is, which shouldn't be very (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Following a Line with a Bad Start

I'm just getting into MS RIS 2.0 and started looking at some of the suggested code for line following. It's generally clear, but it looks like it's best used when a robot is placed parallel to the start of a line and on the line. I'll probably build (...)   Syngress Web Site For Ferrari's Mindstorms
