Re: Hmm... install not going so smooth

setup.exe Package Listing on cygwin.com will tell you that you need the libintl1 package. Probably dependencies for grep are incorrect, otherwise it would have been installed automatically. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Samuel Winchenbach" (...)   Re: Hmm... install not going so smooth

Samuel, Yes I have seen this error. I am guessing your install a couple of weeks ago was actually using B20 version of cygwin? or that you have reinstalled cygwin? I was moving things around and got this error along with some error dialog boxes (...) (23 years ago, 14-May-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  RE: General IR question

(...) A bright (white/blue) light, just like when you point a TV remote to a regular CCD video camera (usually very IR sensitive). mc. (23 years ago, 14-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: software-controlled motors

This modular RCX ideia is perfect, very LEGOish in did :) (...) <OFF-TOPIC> IMHO, TLC isn't thinking "LEGO" anymore... It lost the main original ideia that made LEGO look so logic, modular and limitless (and fun). The ideia behind the newer sets (or (...) (23 years ago, 14-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Camera and legOS

1. the Vision Command Camera and writing software for the camera 2. interfacing your software with a legOS powered robot. 1. The Lego Vision Command is actually a Logitech USB camera repackaged inside some lego pieces. There is a [mostly inactive] (...) (23 years ago, 14-May-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Hmm... install not going so smooth

Hello, I decided to scrape my machine today and when I tried to reinstall legos I ran into a problem compling the cross compiler under cygwin. Here is a list of the packages I have installed: Cygwin Package Information Package Version ash 20020131-1 (...) (23 years ago, 14-May-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: General IR question

Someone has a site with a video of a robot they made. In the video, you can see the two IR LED's blink. The site owner made a comment about what the blinking was caused from. Unfortunately, I don't remember the site address... I think the site had (...) (23 years ago, 14-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  RF ideas for the RCX

Hello everyone, My apologies for the rather long post, but I implore those interested to read on. My hope is that someone can help offer solutions to the following ideas. For the past several months, I've been attempting to find a reasonable (...) (23 years ago, 14-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: General IR question

(...) IR sensors (of the type used by the military for night operations for example) operate over some fixed range of IR frequencies - some work in the near IR (or perhaps even somewhat into the Red end of the visible spectrum) - others in the far (...)   Re: General IR question

Typical remote control IRs like the RCX system are usually in the 870 - 950 nm range, just below visible red. A standard silicon CMOS camera chip will "see" this fine unless it has an IR cut filter (commonly installed in camcorders etc). Silicon is (...) (23 years ago, 14-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Freebsd 4.4 and legos

Ok i just started using freebsd and i was wondering if anyone could tell me what tools i need to install to make legos compile and run correctly. Thankx, Jason Hensler (23 years ago, 14-May-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: More problems with floats

(...) It turns out to be the egcs 1.1.2 I compiled; the RPMs from sourceforge work fine. I'll try to find why my compiler was buggy... Thanks for your reply. Eric (23 years ago, 13-May-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  General IR question

In general, what's the difference between the IR "signal" that the tower and RCX use to communicate and the IR energy used in thermal imaging? Is it just a matter of frequency? If the RCX was pointed at an IR camera, what what would it see? -- Dan (...) (23 years ago, 13-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Infrared communication expansion?

2 ways that have worked for me, both using the long range IR mode: 1) Point the RCX's IR Port at the ceiling and your IR Transmitter/ reciever unit at the ceiling and bounce the signals off your ceiling. I have vaulted ceilings painted white and get (...) (23 years ago, 13-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: software-controlled motors

(...) What I'd like to see would be a Lego computer that was as flexible, expandable and reconfigurable as the mechanical parts of the Lego system. I'd like to think in terms of using something like an I2C bus between 'modules' - where a module (...) (23 years ago, 13-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Camera and legOS

I wonder if anyone knows about the compability between legOS and the camera set named Vision command that are available for the Legorobot?   wireless vision command?

I have many questions about my vision command kit (still unopened). The biggest one un-answered is: Is there a wireless usb connector of some sort to allow wireless communication between the vision command camera and a PC. Currently, as we all know, (...)   Infrared communication expansion?

I'm curious to know if anyone has expanded the communication of the infrared on the RCX brick to a point where it could be interacted with on a 360 degree scale. Somewhat like a radio frequency although the communication does not require going (...) (23 years ago, 13-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Unknown Return Code

  Unknown Return Code

Hi, I'm just getting started using mindstorm, and I'm having problems setting up everything to start with NQC.
