Hi, If you have the SDK2 for the RIS then you have all you need to develop for the Scout. It uses the RCX 2.0 firmware, and all that is different is the following: 1 x built in light sensor (takes away one input). 1 x runnable program mode (select (...) (23 years ago, 18-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics)

i think i shorted my RCX :( i was trying to connect a 9v 300mA adapter ti the battery tabs and the wires must have touched (i'm not sure what happened exactly) and now the thing doesn't switch on! :< i need help please! i'm not that good with (...) (23 years ago, 18-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics)

I'm not sure if anyone is trying out my multiplexor patch, but thought I'd let you all know that I posted a new version which works better and solves some problems in the earlier revision. hi John, everything seems to work fine now, I couldn't get it slowed down. A funny effect, everytime you start BricxCC, it sizes to the previous size, ok. (...) Also, there can be contact problems between the tabs and the circuit board. They are not soldered on, they only press against two square contact areas in the corners. You didn't indicate whether it is an old-style 1.0 RCX (external adapter) or not, so I'll asume it's a batteries-only unit. First of all, do you have any experience with electronics? The first thing I'd be looking at after a mechanical shock would (...) (23 years ago, 17-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics)

I really wanted the steerable shrimp to work out, it is so aesthetically pleasing as a design that it just seemed to the be Right Thing(tm). However, it required a LOT of motors, sensors etc. and if I geared it to climb it would only crawl along the (...) (23 years ago, 17-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Lego is usually pretty nice about replacing broken lego, far nicer than they are required to be. I dont know what theyll do about a broken RCX though. You should call consumer affairs (i dont know the number) and ask them. (...) (23 years ago, 16-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics)
