About the small text...personally I find the xx-small, font size="-2" or

I can sit back in my chair and read it.  I also find the small text
asthetically (sp?) pleasing to that style of site design.

Be very carefull in making small text. Parts of Lugnet are very difficult for
me to read (and I like small text). Part of that of course is that I've already
set my font size small. Remember, most folks seem to like "large print" (I've
finally found someone else at work who likes 1600x1200 for example).

Of course I've seen sites go wrong by making text too big. This usually happens
at home where I run 1600x1200 with "large fonts" (need to to keep text from
being too small for even myself). I've seen totally unreadable pages because
they pop open a new browser window, without re-sizing bars, and use a large
font.

For text that you want folks to read, my suggestion is keep it simple. Sure,
use a background image (but make sure you set the colors right so you don't
have contrast problems - don't assume folks are using recent browsers - many
sites have been unreadable because they depended on being able to set the
background of a cell in a table). Sure, use graphics or special fonts for
headers, but use a normal font (or don't specify at all so I can chose) for the
body text. Sure, put pictures in, but make sure you don't play too fancy and
case text or the picture to get hidden because you tried to control sizes.

Just my thoughts.

Frank
