Valid point, but not coupled with appropriate disclaimers (if in fact that
was the intention of his message) to keep me from taking offense to the
comment.

I see what you're saying here. I use both of those sites as examples of
pretty pictures myself..nothing more. Not navigation, just art. Both sites
are amazing if you will take the time to poke around.
About the small text...personally I find the xx-small, font size="-2" or
10px, font size to be very readable even on my 17" at 1280x1024 resolution.
I can sit back in my chair and read it. I also find the small text
asthetically (sp?) pleasing to that style of site design.
I don't know what the purpose of either site is either...other than a slide
show of artwork. :')

Sure they don't load instantaneously, but its not terrible (even on my
1.5mbps connection). Still, I wish I had your connection :P
Searching for navigation (on an artistic site) shouldn't be that much of a
pain. It shouldn't cause you to leave, unless as Lar pointed out, the goal
of the site is to make money (especially off of the viewer). I'm not that
stubborn with sites I look at.

While simplicity = good, boring simplicity = bad, IMO. That's where good
artwork and good layout skills come into play. A site should be as visually
pleasing as it is easy to use...it not only is pleasing to the eye, it
reflects well on the people/company behind the site.

| (...) Be very carefull in making small text. Parts of Lugnet are very difficult for me to read (and I like small text). Part of that of course is that I've already set my font size small. Remember, most folks seem to like "large print" (I've finally (...) (24 years ago, 7-Nov-00, to lugnet.publish)
