if at all possible it is best to use on of the standard fonts (arial, currier,
ect.) with these you are pretty much certain of compatability with most of
what is out there. Microsoft has a page that details the most commonly used
fonts and thier sources:

If you need to use a special font for a company name or product your best bet
is to creat a image of it rather than typing it directly on the page, then you
are asured the viewer will see what you want them to.
you also have to keep in mind that just because a font is on the viewers
system that doesnt mean they will definatly be able to view it in bold,
italic, underline, ect.
